The Sunset (a poster paint art)

While hanging around Snaps and Waves, one thing that always amazes me is the lovely photos of sunsets from various countries all over the world. Of course, my country has places where you can see a very beautiful sunset.

However, my area isn't one of them. We do get an amazing view of the sunrise, though.

And since I don't get to see beautiful sunsets often, I decided to paint one. Here it is!

This is the kind of sunset I want to see in person. I've seen one before. It was on the opposite side of my island. I went on a short trip with my bestie, and the sunset was so beautiful there. :)

Anyway, let me share some progress shots of my artwork below.

After preparing the 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper by adding masking tape around it, I sketched a light guide for my painting. I also wet the whole paper with water before I started painting.

I filled the whole page with orange, the darkest in the middle and the lightest on top.

For the sea, I added some dark blue paint on the side. This is just the first coating, so I let it dry first and did the other parts.

I combined some blue hues for the sky. I left the lower part orange, so I'll get an orange sunset.

Then, I added some darker orange for the clouds. I also added some bits of darker shades of orange on the lower part.

After it dried, I did the lower part. I also added some islands and, of course, the setting sun.

I did the final adjustments before taking out the masking tape around it. I made the sun pop up to better emphasize it.

Lastly, I added the usual stuff (username, date and signature).

And, here's a selfie with the tiny sunset artwork. It was fun and relaxing to make. I'd love to see a beautiful sunset again in the future.

Thanks for checking, and I hope you like it! See you around! (^^,)/

I know I'm biased like a folding chair but she does rock the socks.

She has an account on here too @ankapolo - but due to crayons and mishaps, and otherwise life in general as it pertains to circumstances. She's not actively seeking reelection.

A shame, if you ask me, but I love her nonetheless and less the nun as well.

Thank you so much... and yes, it's on a 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper. I had to focus when painting since it's too tiny, but it's relaxing and fun! :D

True... but it's faster to finish and uses less paint. haha
I'm decorating these small paintings on my art wall in my room and I have a lot of space to fill. haha
