Thank you so much... this is our second collab, but first digital one. I'm not that aware of the controversy, as I usually just enjoy what I want to watch. haha
The concept of fujoshi and fudanshi existed even before Junjou Romantica. :) My Japanese friend, who is a fudanshi, started with Pokémon doujinshi when he was around 15~ish, he's in his mid-30s now. :)
Fujoshi and Fudanshi are terms used for BL fans. :)
There's also GL fans (yurizuki, himejoshi/himedanshi)...
Josei and shojo are common genres. :)
Shojo manga/anime = usually high school/teen love, so the targets are younger girls/ladies.
Josei manga/anime = usually deeper or mature context, so the targets are adult women. :)
There's a counterpart genre for male targets... shonen and seinen. :)
Personally, I'm a fujoshi since I love BL. I'm not a fan of josei/shojo genres, but I love shonen manga/anime. ^^
That was an excellent explanation. Here in the Americas (Latin America), it became more popular after the premiere of that series and the protagonists danced on an ice rink. I don't remember the name of the anime; right now, I'm having trouble remembering it.
I misspelled “shojo.” I have vision problems, sorry. In my case, I mostly read shonen and seinen. Seinen is very raw when it comes to the adventure genre.
However, I also read a lot of shojo and manhwa from the josei genre. It's rare for a man to read this, but they're entertaining. Hahaha.
I really like fantasy and isekai stories. BL is an area where I score 0. I don't know much or anything about it. Hahaha :P
Ohh... It's Yuri on Ice!!! I love that anime... ^^
No worries... :) I've read a couple of seinen manga as well, and they're pretty fun and exciting. One manga I'm following now is Kingdom... :)
I used to read them when I was in uni... Josei is still entertaining for me, but shojo usually have the same plot, so I rarely read them these days... ^^
I've been reading a lot of fantasy (sometimes isekai/regression) Webtoons these days. There are also isekai BL stories these days. hahaha There aren't a lot of fudanshi (guys who like BL)... I only know a couple of them. XD
