Ladies of Hive Community Contest #263: Does Failure Equal Success?

Hello friends, especially to all the ladies of HIVE. :) I decided to join this week's Ladies of Hive Community Contest and will be sharing my answer and views on the second question.

QUESTION:

2️⃣ Do you consider failing to be less, equal, or more important than succeeding in life and why?

ANSWER:

To be honest, I don't know if failure is less, equal or more important than success. Being successful is subjective. What I consider a success may just be a normal thing for others, and vice versa.

However, what I firmly believe is that one can truly appreciate their success, regardless of what it is, after failing. Failures are merely stepping stones towards success. Is it necessary to fail? I don't think so... but success seems sweeter after failing and rising back up.
And oftentimes, through failing, we discover more valuable things. It's the same analogy with "The journey is more enjoyable than the destination."

Once we succeeded in something soon, we savor it for a bit... and then, what? Well, people are greedy, so they my aim higher each time. But if we failed multiple times before finally succeeding, we tend to look back and cherish every failure and the things we did after them to get to where we are.

A few days ago, we lost our house to the typhoon and flood. You can check my post about it by clicking this sentence. It's not technically a failure, but somehow it felt like it. However, after several attempts, we finally succeeded finding a temporary place to stay. I've failed several times that day, but I just kept pushing and pushing...and with the help of some people around me, we somehow found the success we've been looking for on that particular day, which is shelter.

If I had found a solution easily, it would have been more comfortable... but I won't get to appreciate the experience and life lessons I've learned that day. That failure gave me a clearer understanding about how amazing life is, and how great it is to survive.

So yeah... in the end, I still don't know how to compare success and failure. What I do know is that success seems sweeter after conquering each failure!

Thanks for reading, and see you around!

I am sorry to hear of your loss of your home. That is a huge impact on you, your family, your emotions-the list goes on.

You are correct in stating that failures are indeed stepping stones to success. If nobody failed at anything, than how would anyone learn anything at all? It's about growth-does it hurt? Sometimes, yes, but the journey is definitely worth it.

Thank you for sharing and take care! !LADY !HOPE

It's ok... Disasters can't be stopped, so we can only look forward and continue living. Thank you so much...

And yes... Failures can be the best teachers, and it's up to us whether we learn them or neglect them. :)

Have a good one!

Bendiciones 🙏🏼

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear about your house, but as you say, we should be grateful that it was only material losses and that you're all okay. It's great that this incident made you reflect on things, and it's also made me realize that we should always be thankful for what we have and not dwell on what we don't. It was a bit of a setback that will later just be a bad memory, but it taught me a lot. It was a pleasure to hear from you. Good luck in the contest. Blessings 🙏🏼

Wow, I'm sorry that you lost your home. You can't blame yourself for the things you cannot control. I don't get too many storms here in Western Canada but I did prepare myself in the event of an expected Earthquake which has been overdue statistically. A few small ones, but better than one BIG one. I'm glad you are able to find alternate accommodation. That is not easy around Vancouver with very low vacancy rate.

We're lucky to have received support from people around us, including our landlord. These things are unpredictable, so we can't really do anything except try to survive and move forward... Thank you so much! 💙✨

Greetings. Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your home. That's not something that's easy to deal with. At this point, I wouldn't dare to judge that situation as a success or a failure... Perhaps it's closer to having survived such a situation. I hope you're safe. And finally, you're right about one thing: it's not necessary to fail, but victory definitely tastes better after failure. A big hug.
