Farmer of Spirits --- Cuteness Overload! :)

A couple of months ago, I got really into a Webtoon called The Top Dungeon Farmer. Before that, I've been interested in stuff related to dungeons, gaming, and so on, so reading something related to dungeon farming felt fresh.

After I caught up with it, I searched for similar stories because farming in the dungeon seemed so amusing. Then, I stumbled upon another manhwa called Farmer of Spirits or Spirit Farmer.

This manhwa is originally serialized by KakaoPage, but you can also read the English version on Tapas Website or the app. It's already completed with around 190 chapters, so you can enjoy binge-reading the whole thing.

Now, let's talk about the story...

Many years ago, the appearance of portals spawning monsters started, and at about the same time, some people became superhumans. Places to train people to become superhumans opened, and our main character, Lee Geon Woo, was among the humans who dreamt of becoming one.

Things didn't go as planned, even after more than a decade of training, so he gave up on that dream and returned to his family farm.

One thing that's interesting and unique about the superhumans in this story is that they are categorized into two groups. One group is the hunters who fight against monsters directly, while the other is a group of humans who excel in a specific field that supports both the hunters and other people in society.

For instance, in the photo above, he's a superhuman chef. Providing food for hunters not only satiates their hunger but also boosts their powers.

Now, going back to the main character. After returning to his family farm, he was determined to just live a normal life, helping his parents. However, one day, he heard a voice coming from a cute sprout. Although skeptical, he decided to raise it. It grew bigger and pretty quickly than he anticipated. And as its maturity came, it took the form of a little girl named Hawa.

He was shocked to meet her at first, and even became more shocked when he started receiving notifications about Hawa being a spirit of farming and him becoming a superhuman farmer.

The two of them work in tandem. Hawa summons spirits for him, and he, as a superhuman farmer, commands the spirits to help them with farming. They were able to grow high-grade crops, which have huge benefits for hunters and ordinary humans alike... not only that, he's able to plant special dungeon crops after gaining access to a dungeon farm.

The story is about Geon and his spirits' quest to cultivate crops that are capable of changing the world and saving it from the threats it faces.

This is such a wholesome story with a little bit of action and a lot of cuteness injected into it. I like its slow-paced way of telling the story.

There are a lot of interesting characters, including superhumans, ordinary humans, spirits, and even monsters that reside in the dungeons. It's amusing and entertaining to see how different life forms coexist and affect each other.

The story is about family, love, acceptance... and a lot of farming! Seeing how his dungeon farm grew was also quite inspiring. It's heartwarming and enjoyable to read.

I also like how the story focused more on the other category of superhumans who are there to support the hunters. Farming is one, but connecting it to other superhumans was a lot of fun!

After farming, a superhuman chef creates fantastic meals out of the harvests... then, there's also a superhuman alchemist who creates helpful potions out of the dungeon plants and other ordinary ingredients... and so on. :)

The art style was also charming... as I've mentioned, there's cuteness overload in this manhwa. Seeing all the cute characters is already a type of healing in itself. However, reading the story made it even better.

So yeah, if you're looking for a slow-paced, feel-good, and heartwarming story with overflowing cuteness, then this is for you! :) I recommend it! (^^,)/
