Cousins Unite after a Long Time... 💙✨

As some of you may already know, I'm an only child. Despite that, I was able to have an awesome childhood because I grew up with my cousins, especially from my mother's side of the family. Well, its a given since some of them lived with grandma and our house that time was beside grandma's place.

However, my summer vacation was always reserved for my father's side... well, even Christmas break at times. My parents and I would stay in my grandparents' place. Whenever we do that, my cousins who live in the area would end up staying at my grandparents ' place as well. All of us, around 7 or more people would stay in one room. We hardly sleep coz we'd enjoy talking, catching up, or just do various things.

During the daytime, we'd go to the park and play a lot. When some of uswere in high school, we'd go to the internet cafe, then the park, and just hang around with each other. Even though I just see them a couple of times a year, we were quite close with each other.

I'm usually the eldest in the female group (there are two female cousins who are older than me, but they were not usually around), but our age gap isn't that far except for the youngest. She's still a teenager now, but we're also close since we both love BL and anime. hahaha

The reason why I'm reminiscing is because I got to spend time with four of my cousins yesterday. One of them now lives in Canada, but she came home with her boyfriend and father. I haven't met her for 11 years... well, she and her sister went home 7 years ago, but I was too busy when they came to Cebu at that time, and they were just here for a day before going back to their hometown. She jokingly reminded me about it by saying, "You didn't meet me 7 years ago... look what happened, it took us 11 years to meet again!" I just laughed and replied, "At least we're able to meet now." hahaha

Her sister couldn't come home because she just gave birth a couple of months ago, so she's busy with her baby. I can't wait to see her and my pretty little niece someday, though.

We just hang around our house yesterday. We caught up, sang karaoke, shared food, and talked a lot... well, I mostly just listened. hahaha typical me Our fathers and her bf are drinking buddies now. lol

Anyway, my cousins are so active on social media, so they took some photos... and I just asked them to send me to share here as well.

The only guy in the photo is our eldest cousin. He and the youngest in this group (the one taking the groufie) live together in Cebu. They also both work in the same hospital in the city. He's a nurse, while she's in the reception.

The one wearing glasses came to Cebu around a month ago for work. I haven't met her since 2019. She planned to come over, but she recently just sertled down. Perhaps we're going to see each other more often from now on. Her younger sister (my bro) used to live with us. We just video-called her yesterday. hahahah

The only one wearing white is from Canada. They're staying in the Philippines for a couple of weeks. She's going on a trip with her bf, while my uncle is going to his hometown to see grandma as I'm making this post. My father and older cousin is taking him to the port now. Guess my cousin will just follow them after a few days.

My mom is like a second mother to them. They also call her Mama Nhor... Despite not seeing each for a long time, it was as if we just met yesterday. And despite us being in our 30s already, except for the youngest (she's still in her late 20s), we feel that our childhood days were just yesterday.

I won't be able to go back to grandma's place with them this time since I need to accompany Mama and the fur babies at home, but we're planning to get together again late next week before they go back to Canada. My cousin missed my Mama's cooking, so we're preparing some food to share then.

I'm glad to spend time with them again, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for reading and see you around!!!

This is very nice. It is always nice to meet your family and relatives, if they are nice people.

I can just imagine how lively and fun your gathering was. I also wish to have that kind of closeness with my cousins, but like you we live far from each other. That’s why every reunion feels so special and memorable.
