Cold Brew using the French Press... <3
It was quite hot and humid in our area the past few days until two days ago, when it started to feel a bit gloomy and sometimes rainy. During those hot days, I thought of making some iced coffee again. However, I'm curious how to make it properly using the French Press.
Last time, I just made the usual hot brew... then added cold milk and ice cubes to it. The ice cubes made it bland, though adding white sugar somewhat improved the taste. hahaha
When I asked Co-chan (my Copilot AI) for suggestions, it answered that when making cold brew using a French Press, I have to let it seep for 12-24 hours. I was shocked! hahaha But I decided to follow it anyway.

I got my French Press carafe, cold water, and my coffee grounds. It's the caramel nutty coffee grounds from last time, but I mixed in some of the darker roasted coffee beans I have. I poured in 750mL of water and stirred it using a chopstick.
Then, as instructed by Co-chan, I placed the coffee inside the fridge overnight. It was most likely for around 12 hours.
The next morning, I took it out of the fridge and enjoyed its smell. hahaha I decided to add some soymilk to it, as well as a little bit of condensed milk to make it sweeter.

We have these glasses, which we got for free from the pharmacy. Every time we buy some wheat bread, they give us a glass as a freebie. I took out two soy milk cartons, but only because I thought the milky oat wouldn't be enough. I ended up not using the other one. The one inside the container with red lid is condensed milk.

I poured the cold brew first... and as usual, I had the most coffee and my mom had the least. Then, I added the soy milk, leveling the amount in each glass.
I added a teaspoon of condensed milk to my glass and a couple of teaspoons to my parents' glasses. They prefer their coffee sweeter.
After stirring, we tasted our coffee... and we loved it. It's smooth and yummy. I also tried it without any milk or sugar. I have a bit of cold brew left, so I placed it in my tumbler to drink it as is.
Lastly, we added a couple of ice cubes to our glasses. We don't usually have cold coffee for breakfast, but this cold brew was delicious... and it was perfect for the hot day ahead.
It's been rainy and/or gloomy for the past couple of days, though, so we're back to hot brew. It's either that or green tea, which I also prepare using the French Press. haha
A while ago, I went out for some groceries with my father... and I bought some honey! Next time, I'll add it to our coffee... and my mom also wants to add it to our tea, so we're looking forward to having that. ^^
So yeah... that's it for this brew. I like it better than the hot brew first, and just add ice. It may take a while, but cold brew this way tastes so much better. ^^
Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
