Cabin By The River (a poster paint art)
I don't get a lot of chances to go outside in nature to explore. Well, I do go for a walk by the beach and watch the sunrise from time to time, but I'm actually yearning to see more green spaces.
That's why it's always a pleasure for me to see a lot of beautiful photographs on HIVE. Seeing beautiful places through other authors' posts and photos makes me want to get inside the monitor and teleport to those places.
One of my favorite photography bloggers @oldmans posted his Wednesday Walk experience a couple of days ago. I always look forward to his long posts, but I also always feast my eyes on his Snaps. ^^
The place was amazing, and there was this one particular photo that really caught my attention. I wanted to go there badly, but since the place is thousands of miles away, I at least wanted to use his photo as a painting reference.
I love painting places that I want to visit someday, so with his permission, I finally got the chance to sit down and paint. :)
This time, I used a 10 x 15 cm watercolor paper and poster paint to create this artwork. Allow me to show you the painting process below. :)

First, I prepared the paper by placing some masking tape around it, then I sketched the subject using a pencil for guidance. :)
Next, I did the background. I chose green on the upper part and blue on the lower part for the river. I left the cabin sketch uncolored.

I then painted some brown lines on the green background. I varied it in size and darkness, so it'll emphasize the distance. Some of the trees are near, while the others are far, especially those behind the cabin.

Then, I started making some green leaves for the trees behind the cabin. I also started painting the cabin itself while I'm at it. :)
I used several different colors for the cabin. There's blue, green, orange, brown and gray. It's small, but it seems so cozy.

I painted the rest of the woods. The reference photo or post was taken in spring, so some trees just started budding. It was fun creating these branches. There were supposed to be leaves already, but I wanted to leave it this way.

In the foreground, there are these cute little branches with budding leaves representing the coming of spring.
We don't have spring in my country, but I think it's a very encouraging season. It's as if you're given another chance in life.
After finishing the foreground, I added some details using black and white gel pens. I also added an outline to the cabin. :)
Finally, I added my signature, username and the date today.

And here's what the finished artwork looked like after taking out the masking tape around it. This is going to be a wonderful addition to my art wall. I can't wait to post it there! :)
Also, I took a selfie together with the artwork, and also another photo of the artwork alongside the reference photo. Here they are!

Again, thanks a lot for allowing me to use your photo as a painting reference @oldmans. :)
Check out his posts! He has a lot of amazing photographs of his walks and travels. Watching them is as relaxing as painting. ^^
Anyway, I'll end this post here. I still have to prepare for my class, which is in 10 minutes. Ahh~ my work area is still messy. XD See you around! (^^,)/
