Black Knight (Webtoon) -- an exciting and heartbreaking read!

It's been a while since I last posted in this community. I've been reading a bunch of Webtoons recently, but for some reason, it takes me a while to share them. I do keep a list of Webtoons to share, but funny this is, I forgot some of the stories because of their quantity. Hahah

Anyway, I'll just share one of the recent ones I've read. I finished reading this the other day, but I actually finished another one today, which was also amazing. For now, let me share about the Webtoon called Black Knight.

NOTE: The photos I'm going to share are screenshots from the WEBTOON app... I linked the web version here.

Sawol (the female one), the main character, lives in a world where air pollution is severe. People can't go out safely without a gas mask to help them breathe. However, that's the least of her problems.

There's a huge social gap between normal residents and refugees. The refugees are heavily discriminated against, so they tend to live underground. Sawol was born to a refugee mother, but then they were massacred by the police. She survived.

Another group of refugees adopted her and became her family... She found a brother (the boy in the photo) who told her information about the world they're in... but the same thing happened again. She lost her new family just because they were refugees. But luckily, she survived thanks to her brother. And she was later secretly rescued by a resident.

Refugees have the chance to become residents in this world, and that is to become a Delivery Agent. These are strong individuals who deliver packages from home to home, but there's a reason why they're strong...

They're often attacked by a group of refugees who want to take over their trucks to get the goods, mostly oxygen and food. So, they'd have to fight them to protect the packages.

And for Sawol to become one, she'd have to fight underground fights first and win the top rank, to get invited to take the Delivery Knight or Agent's exam. Will she be able to do it and get a residency? Read it to find out...

To be honest, the summary of the Webtoon is just the tip of the iceberg. There's more to this story than that.

The Webtoon has 89 chapters, and it's completed.

I find the story exciting and heartbreaking, and it could be frustrating at times. It's funny how realistic it is despite the "monsters" that appeared gradually as the story unfolded.

I must say, it's political... You know, those types of politicians that are used as dummies or puppets by powerful capitalists? They don't care about the people at all, rather what they're after is profit. That's basically one of the main points here.

The story is painfully relatable. You know what I mean when you read it.

As for the artstyle, I like it. It suits the darkness and depth of the story. There are some interesting characters like the "Zombie", the "Fire Guy", the "Samurai", and so on. I don't know their names, as names were rarely mentioned in the Webtoon.

I believe there was a K-drama version of this Webtoon. I'm not sure whether it's as good as the webtoon, but the story must be popular in Korea for it to be adapted into one. I just stumbled upon it while looking for stuff to read on the app. hahaha

The ending was good, though I wanted to know more about what happened next. It's not a cliffhanger, but it wouldn't hurt to read some side stories following the ending. hahaha I just got some trivial questions in mind that are looking for answers... it doesn't necessarily affect the story, though.

So yeah, if you're looking for something to read, I recommend this one. It's deep and could be a bit dark for most people, but it's one of those stories I could call an eye-opener.

Anyway, I'll end this post here for now. I need to catch up with work soon! haha See you around! (^^,)/
