A Flame Reborn (Webtoon)

I'm here to share yet another Webtoon. I've caught up with this one either last month or earlier this month. I've been reading a bunch of Webtoons, so I'm sharing them here one at a time. I still have around five of them that I haven't shared yet, and I'm currently reading another one.

I've been reading a lot of them, so I haven't really watched anime recently. I'd have to take a break after catching up with the one I'm currently reading and start making progress on my anime to-watch list.

For now, let me share something about A Flame Reborn, which is also known as Regressor of the Fallen Family.

From the title itself, you'd already notice that the theme of this Webtoon includes regression and/or being born again. Let's talk about it!

The story is about a middle-aged knight named Logan MacLine. He, together with the independence army, aims to exact revenge against the empire that has taken over their kingdom.

Well, he has a more personal reason, rather than showing devotion towards their kingdom. He wanted to avenge his brother, who was helplessly executed.

He wasn't particularly close to his brother. When he was young, he was considered a good-for-nothing son. He's been training to become a knight for a decade, but he was easily defeated by his younger brother, who's only trained for three years.

Due to his sense of inferiority, he did something unimaginable, which ultimately led to his disownment by his father. His brother was alive, but the damage had been done.

He left home and became a mercenary. This experience made him realize how pathetic he had been. By the time he decided to own up to his past mistakes and apologize, it was too late. His family was gone, and his brother was publicly executed. So the only option he had was revenge.

He ended up sacrificing himself during the mission, but even as he departed the world, he still couldn't get over the regret of losing his family without having apologized.

And so, the regression occurred!!! He got back to the day when he lost to his younger brother during their sparring match.

From there, he plans to turn over a new leaf. With the knowledge and experience he gained from his past life, he intends not only to make amends with his family but also to prevent the inevitable future of their kingdom.

Will he be able to bring about change? Let's all find out together!

This is an ongoing Webtoon with around 80 episodes on the Webtoon app, so I'm also not aware of what's going to happen next. However, I must say it was an enjoyable read.

I read it after I caught up with The Academy's Genius Swordsman and The Greatest Estate Developer. I just had to mention these two because I feel that A Flame Reborn is like a combination of both.

Just like the The Academy's Genius Swordsman, this series has an OP main character. I suppose it's a given, given that he has regressed after acquiring knowledge and experiences from his past life. But even so, they both continued to hone their skills to achieve the goals they had once failed to do.

And it's similar to The Greatest Estate Developer's MC in a way because they're both cunning, especially in their strategies and in manipulating the people around them to their advantage. Despite that, they're both soft-hearted in a way that they help people around them, even though they pretend it's nothing special. (Two tsundere peas in a pod) They also both make a lot of silly facial expressions, although Lloyd Frontera from The Greatest Estate Developer wins in that aspect. XD

Aside from the intriguing storyline, OP MC and great art style, there are just a lot of likeable and funny characters in this series. I know there aren't many chapters to read yet, but this is something to look forward to reading. As the story progresses, the scenes get better and better.

I can't wait to continue reading this series, but, like the other ongoing series I've caught up with, I'll let this marinate for a few months before rereading it.
