A Beautiful Lady (Gel Pen Art)

Since my father was able to retrieve more of my art supplies from our flooded home, I now have more to choose from. I've been trying to catch up on work and help with a lot of cleaning, so I haven't had time just to sit down and draw or paint for hours.

It's the same today... I worked the whole morning from 5 AM, and after lunch, I decided to draw something quickly. I'm trying to reach my goal of posting something at least once a day to grow my account further here, and also to earn some extra money, as we really need it these days.

There are a couple of art-related contents that I'm excited to work on and share here someday. One is my next BL-anime fanart collaboration with my dear friend @suezoe. I'll try working on my part either tonight or tomorrow. It also serves as my digital art practice. The other one is the challenge from @oladele-art, which is a scenery painting. I already have my acrylic paint with me, but I'm still checking whether I have any larger watercolor paper left.

So, before working on those projects, I did a quick sketch today using a pencil and gel pens.

This graphing pad of mine is unharmed since it was on my loft bed. This is what I usually use when making a gel pen artwork.

I did a pencil sketch of my subject. I tried drawing it as lightly as I could since I don't have any decent erasers left. It's among the art supplies that I'm lacking at the moment. So expect this artwork to be a bit messy. haha

All the gel pens I'm using are 0.5, so I have to be careful with the pressure I use for the outlines. However, I also prioritize my enjoyment, so it's ok. hahaha Small mistakes in art can be happy accidents! :D

After completing most of the outline with a black gel pen, I added shading and detailing with the colored gel pens I have. I always find it relaxing to do so. Sometimes, just creating random lines and patterns can be therapeutic.

I added my signature and username on the artwork, and it's done. Usually, I'd have to erase the initial pencil sketch, but I will do so when I have a decent eraser someday. hahaha

I finished this artwork in around 40 minutes, and it turned out better than I expected. I'll try to challenge myself to create art in a variety of styles. Art is therapeutic and a great way to relax, so let's keep creating!

I'll work on the art collabs and challenges in the coming days, so I hope you all look forward to seeing them... along with some other random art sketches or works I'll make and share here someday.

I'll end this post here for now. I hope you enjoyed this gel pen art I created, and I look forward to seeing you around! Have a great one! (^^,)/

Hey friend! I love your determination to keep expressing yourself through art despite the circumstances 😌 Your dad is a hero, haha, he managed to rescue some of your art supplies and that's definitely something to celebrate 🎉 I also wish I could do a drawing every day, but in my case, I've challenged myself to sew, even if it's just a little during the day, and that takes up a lot of my time, haha, but oh well... I'll try to plan ahead to fit in drawing, even if it's just for a few minutes 😆 My best wishes from this part of the world! Keep drawing! Our collaborations will continue because we're eager to do it, hehe! Big hug! 😘💚

Thanks, friend! :)
Art keeps us going, right? ^^
True... I'm glad he could take some of the art materials I can still use.

I can't draw every day because I need to work, but I'll try to insert it whenever I have a chance. :)

Your sewing projects are all so amazing! Keep them coming! LD

Yes... I'm always excited for our collabs. I sent you the file earlier, but I'm not sure I sent it correctly. I hope you can open it on your end.

Big hugs back~!!! :D
