People follow different rituals according to culture and traditions. It's alright as long as you have respectfully sent off that loved-one, your duty to that person is done. Similar to yours, we say prayer, thanking them for all they did in this life. I appreciate you sharing about this rituals and their significance. May the soul of the dearly departed rest in paradise.
