All the Pioneers both the current and those lost members who have lost hope or given up on the project due to delay in Open Network launch proposal that set to happen years back, now have a new review and flesh thought about the project since the main date for launch has been officially announce.

In the last two years now, the hit of the open network launch has been on the internet and on the mind of Pi Pioneers, link….

Given different announcement to launch this open network, user known as Pioneers has been in anticipation to see this date come to reality.

The question now remains are we really achieving this goal now or just another announcement ? I can say, we are sure this announcement is very different from the previous announced, because previous announcements have never come with a date and time rather set month for launch.
On 11th day of February, 2025. At 10:23 pm the PiCoreTeam took to their Pi announcement channels for this long awaiting moment for the Pioneers regarding the open network launch set to be on the 20th February 2025,

According to the announcement titled OPEN NETWORK ANNOUNCEMENT
Pioneers, open Network will launch at 8am UTC on February 20, 2025! With millions of KYC-verified pioneers and a thriving utilities-driven ecosystem, open Network expands available opportunities, which allows pioneers to connect Pi with other external systems for in real-world applications like never before. Congratulation to the entire community for the collective efforts and work over the past 6 years that led us to this moment!...

Now let’s take a detail review of the announcement
Pi is a digital currency and decentralized finance project that aims to make cryptocurrency mining accessible via mobile devices. Developed by a group of Stanford graduates, pi Network allows users to “mine” or validate transactions on their smartphones through a mobile application. The project launched on Pi Day (March 14) in 2019, symbolizing the mathematical constant (3.14).

Given the goals of pi core team to make crypto mining easy, the team develop a model to allow pioneers to mine the coin using their cellphone without draining mobile phone battery, this process is review on the whitepaper release on march 2019. The anticipating news of launching on the 20th February, will give the pioneers the opportunity in transition to the open network period of the mainnet from 8.00am UTC. This is a very same vision of the pi core team seeking to achieve the world most inclusive peer to peer ecosystem using the their native token Pi Network.

Pi network has been a long-time project since the year 2019, making it six years in existence under the enclosed network, close with different phases of the project, now the current mainnet phase 3 began from December 2021, I still remember the joy among most pioneers with the hope of launching the open network the next year 2022, even though the mainnet was live and been protected by firewall by the developer core team to prevent any external connectivity to the network, this made the pioneers to be able to transact within the mainnet ecosystem. As the open network is set to happen in few days the set stage of this project seek to allow this three main activities on the network, been the same progress the are working on since 2021.
Key point to note as the open mainnet set in on launch day

Pioneers will complete their KYC to gain pi on the mainnet
Developers to build real apps and utility for the pi ecosystem.
The core team to release and improve various pi features and utilities.

According to the team the pioneers are to expect new changes inclusive with external connectivity to layer-1 pi blockchain, this will create pi environment for the network to connect to outside world ecosystems. Its means that the firewall will be removed to allow proper external interaction with network engagement in transactions beyond the ecosystem. With the launch, business can apply for KYB (know your business).
