They're Not As Big As I Thought, The First For The Cruiser.
Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!
My First Land Cruiser Build!
Well this is going to be a bite to chow down! Might be or might not be... the thing is I didn't do the teardown on it so it'll be a hell of a puzzle to solve right?
I think, not sure, but this will be the first transmission I close all on my own... I might even consider that I am getting there! Wait I am lying... this might be the first big pickup manual that I close. I've closed quite a few transmissions so far yet it also doesn't feel like it!
Let's get cracking! I already puzzled out a great deal of it!
Quite A Bit Of Work So Far!
It took quite sometime to get to this point... it really did but as I always say I am more comfortable with the automatics than I am with the manuals but here we are fishing at the manuals!
Now I don't know if I should believe this but I think I should! Bossman told me "Heh you think you're over the worst... wait until you run into that transfer case!
It can't be that bad right? A lot less gears turning in that one right?
At-least She's Done!
The one half yeah!
Now what I've forgotten was that the transfer case casing bolts onto the transmission and then you assemble the transfer as one unit to the transmission... It's wildly different from most vehicles! WILDLY!
At-least I've got this part of the transmission done with and now to figure out the rest!
That's also one thing I know I am good at and it's figuring things out... Heck I've been tearing these down without the help of Bossman and if you just give me some time I'll figure it out on my own! The problem is the time it takes to rectify a mistake! Oh it can be tedious!
A great deal of fun though!
Now For The Ugly Part!
I had a good laugh with this part!
See that spline sticking out at the back, well bossman came by pressed that in there and told me to bolt the casing to the transmission... all just to have it removed again!
I did all that effort just for bossman to come screw me around xD! Unintentionally though!
What needs to happen is that shaft absolutely HAS to get GREASE on the inside of it, the oil will never get pumped or pushed in there... so I had to remove the casing again to get the shaft greased up!!
That's the tedious part, it means removing the silicone sealer and all that! What a mess!
It Seems Easy!
Oh indeed it does and I think that is where it stays!
I had this whole thing picture out in my head and I thought well this was going to be a quicky for sure! It was a quick way to a screw up!
Although I'm not shy about it, I've never done one of these before... like ever! So it's understandable, for me at-least!
I have to say it looks a hell of a lot prettier than the transmission! But that is what makes those four wheels turn! Pure power going through those thick teeth!
A Tricky Thing!
This doesn't look like a great big deal but heck figuring this thing out was a great time killer! For sure! It doesn't look like much I KNOW, but underneath everything there is actually a great deal going on! Yet it is still such a small part of the entire build!
Glad to say that I got it sorted out and was able to puzzle out everything! Tomorrow I'll be slapping on the rear casing and be done with it!

I was really good at playing Lego's when I was a kid... I give credit to LEGO! 😆
