The Slight Problem Adjustment!

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

A Slight Little Comeback. Not Exactly Though.

So we've recently had this walk in client that needed a clutch replacement on his DSG, but he already had the clutch kit in the trunk of his car. How can I put this nicely? The guy is driving a 1.2 liter Polo and I have the idea that he thinks this is a GTI or something. Not the case!

Anyways last year before closing for Christmas time we did the clutch on his car and he came back now complaining about a slight slip on the clutch, now we gave him the option of rebuilding the megatronic as we have experienced such light slips that you can barely notice it slipping. Now slipping over a long period of time is really not good for the clutch so the problem has to be addressed.

The Picture Is Like The Bank, Always A Blur!

Okay so we gave the option of rebuilding the megatronic, the customer is all for it but he isn't really in for the paying of it, as he is probably trying to smear it off on us like we did something wrong during the clutch installation, which is not the case.

So we told him we will rebuild the megatronic on us and if it fixes the problem you can pay us, then the guy knows what he paid for right? Either way if not we take the parts out and wave him off because after all he brought his own clutch, no warranty on that job.

Bearably Dirty!

So it is safe to say that this is not the dirtiest megatronic I have ever seen, it actually looks quite good so far!

Let's Start Tearing.

All in all this looks not too shabby, it does look like the oil has been working for quite sometime, and mostly everything is covered with that wet powdery coat.

I can't really say that it's metal, it might be something that breaks down in the oil.

The first to remove would be the accumulator, now that thing has some good and decent pressure hidden away in there!

That is usually where the trouble starts! Something goes wrong in their and sometimes these megatronics even blow up!

Well that is something but it's not even major at all, but considering this has high pressure it might still be a leak spot.

Best Way Of Describing Is Sometimes Showing!

That is what I mean with that powdery coat of something, we have to wash all that off from every component. Not too much of a task at all, a bit tedious maybe but there are far worse thing to be caught up in!

We will definitely be tearing this down to the bone, no other way.

It All Adds Up.

A little bit here and a little bit there and it all adds up to some sort of failure.

This is seemingly good because whatever is coating the entire inside casings is also caught up in the filter, time to throw that one right out!

Some Fine Sediment!

That is all the metal I can really find in this megatronic, which is also good, it looks like money! Eh! Haha, well yeah, the more problems we can find the better, every little patch secures the road!

Literally!

Time to dump those solenoids in the tub and let them rinse with some nice heat there hey!

We got to go buzzing up now!

This might be my favourite tool in the house so far!

Some Junk For The Bin!

That's just half of the seals I need to replace and it is the easy half! Laughs the big and easy to remove ones.

I still have plenty more but everything is beginning to take shape here!

A Thing Of Beauty!

Oh this really is so much fun! Especially when you get to build one with an entire new set of mostly everything, no literally everything! Except for the big housing casing! But everything inside that gets replaced!

Oh the sheer joy is lovely!

Until it's time for the tediousness of it all! Gosh darnet!

Replacing these little seal rings on the solenoids can be a large bummer! There are 3 on each and eight of them all together! You have to remove and fit them ey!

Fun times!

Almost Done!

So after a whole lot of tedious work I still have not fitted back all of the seals that needed replacing! But we are about 75% done with this job and once it's done we can get it back into the vehicle and be done with it!

A nice clean job!

If I can have an honest opinion, I think this is getting way too easy for me!

I need something bigger and better now! YES!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.

To everyone who made it this far into my post Thank you for the read and the support.
