The Hard Oil Leak!

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

The Hard Leak!

Well this is something not exactly in our ball park but let's try and run with it!

We rebuilt a transmission on this one some time ago and now we are going to try and fix some major leaks! Oil leaks on the engine!

Here's a short video of the problem! Or rather problems! You can check it is in-fact leaking at more than one spot!

There are a few leaking spots and boy are they going to be hard to reach!

The first one and most major one is on the oil sump pan! That one is seeping out of there like nothing I've seen before!

The other one is coming from the crank oil seal! Another hard to reach spot! So basically the oil sump pan and the front timing chain cover has to be removed! What a hard knock on this one!

So since this is a late puller I will share what I got for today!

The most problematic corner right there!

But we will sort that one out later on!

The Front Timing Cover!

Whelp! As you can see there is a lot that needs removing!

I ain't going to be shy with this at all!

I will pull as much as I can to get as comfy a work space as possible!

I honestly don't care if I remove the entire nose from the vehicle, I will if I have to! Okay that might be a bit drastic but I doubt we need to go as far!

The one thing that I am going to remove is the radiator! Yeah everyone says it is not needed and I know it is not needed but it is legitly two water pipes and two bolts and I have it out! So why not!

Let's pull it! I want work space here! Most of all to give a good job!

Already so much more space to work with!

This makes for a good clean job and less of a stress on the patience of things! Sometimes removing more is better! It really is!

Now I won't be going too far today as the time ran out real quick! I got this job at 4 and thought well starting now would save me a lot of time tomorrow!

Most Removed!

I did get most of the pulleys removed! Nah actually I got all of them removed except for the front water pipe connecting with the engine block! I just don't have a new photo!

I removed the bolts of the water pipe connection but didn't split it from the block yet, I might as well have because I did drain the water! But for tomorrow it is legitly just removing the front cover bolts and pulling the cover!

Easy task if you ask me!

Then I have to remove the front crank seal and once I do that I can refit a new one and cover everything back up!
Then and only then will I tackle the oil sump pan! Boy that is going to be a nerve Wrecker!
