The Biggest Differential I Have Worked On.
Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
How Time Flies!
Okay well before do the little dive into this one I do have to say things have been real hectic lately and time is little. With all the moving and buying a house and fixing it up I haven't really been able to write up some good content! Well I mean the time is there but with a drained mental strength! But life goes on and getting out of those are easy enough!
So here I am writing up something because DAMN I do miss this!
The Big Gears!
Okay so! We've got something entirely different here today! Something entirely different!
Some big ass differential! Okay so we didn't actually take it out, we hired a mobile truck repair company or something! It's not that we can't it's that we are swamped over with work! Yeah that too right!
So they pulled it out for us and we do the repair and I do think Bossman wants us to put it back! It has to be given a major amount of love though! So nah no 3rd parties!
This thing is majorly huge! Add a little meat to it and it's almost bigger than my car wheels!
Imagine that!
This will also be my first time tearing it apart without any supervision! Muhahhahaha I can do what I want! Nah Lol Bossman is out of shop and he wants this split apart so let's just do it?
This is purely a job for the big tools! I mean you can see the BIG impact there on the right!
I'll be honest it wasn't exactly a very easy task, not hard but had to use some brain power to not hurt myself and to get it out in one piece!
Cranes and Cranes!
Now this goes without saying that I did not remove any of this by hand! Yup I held it in place with my hand a couple of times trying to shift weight around to get the crown wheel out! And then I didn't have it hooked up on the crane at all! Some schetchy ass shit that was.
But at-least I am very well aware of what I need to do when it falls! Just jump the fuck away!
Still More Tearing To Do!
Yup but for now we leave it just as it is! We still need to send out a quotation so tearing down more for nothing isn't exactly the plan now!
Once bossman returns we can send a quote and see what the owner wants done!
I am going to write something up a little later about the truck it came out of aswell! I mean it's just a truck and a somewhat old one so it likely isn't anything spectacular but for me it's pretty damn dope I have to say!
It's a CAT truck! Have you ever seen a CAT truck? Well I haven't and this was the very first time!
