Just A Bunch Of Techies Whacking It Out!
Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
Just A Bunch Of Techies!
Well! We're getting another member to the two man team! That sounds like a fun thing to go through right! A third wheel!
Nah actually not, it's a bit of a long story short but the guy to the far right actually worked here for a good couple of years and now it sounds like he might return. With everything going on in the economy things are rough and not everybody can keep their heads above water!
He tried running his own shit show and that didn't work out too good for him (I don't mean it in a bad way when I say shit show it's just what it is to run a techie shop! Always some screw up! HEH!)
Heck we look like weirdos that early in the morning! You can mock! Oh please do!
Back To Work Now!
Wow!
I actually didn't even notice this but look at my splendidly clean tearing down table!
I don't think I've seen that table so clean in years actually! Nothing but the oil scraper on the table!
It might be raining or even snowing this weekend!
Okay well we've got this build here to tear down and it's a fairly easy one! If I can remember all the kinks!
This is a 5 speed manual ranger, these are mostly the entry levels and can't really do that much other than driving! That is what they are built for ey!
Hammer And Hammer Away!
The one downside of these Ford Getrag transmission is that they are a hell of a pain to tear down! Most people shy away from them because they are so hard to build and tear down!
One of the transmissions that takes the most hammering to get her open! Really I pound away with big hammers! Then there is the remembering part! The five speed and the six speed teardown on two different methods! Wildly actually!
If I do to the six speed what I do with the five speed I will without a doubt ruin a lot of things inside the transmission! Without a doubt!
But that's a story for another day!
The Worst When Solo!
Oh this part I dislike a lot! Especially if no one is around to lend a helping hand!
What needs to happen is I need to grow an extra eye ball and a extra arm! Then I'd be fine!
The thing here is that you need to press everything inside out at one go! Yeah! Imagine! One go! Then you've got to catch it with one hand because the other hand is pressing the press!
Then while you're busy doing all of that you've got to make sure that you are actually guiding everything properly and that no teeth on any gear is in the way of something that might knock it off!
A real pain but something that definitely gives a sense of achievement! That feels amazing!
That's That!
You'd never expect that transmission to have so little inside right? And to top it off with a bunch of cherry's on top! I doubt anyone would believe the size of it compared to the vehicle if this was infront of them!
They'd say no way it's that small! Wait till you see the chunker automatic transmission and its size compared to the casing! It doesn't really add up at all!
Well when I was done here I called over Bossman and told him well ain't this just pretty! It's pretty, to touch to stare at... maybe it's a techie thing... it must be a techie thing to say it plain!
The Truth Is.
Well I'm not sure how we are going to tell the client that there isn't anything wrong with the transmission? We can't see one thing wrong with it? The magnet doesn't even have any metal shavings on it?
Heck knows why they brought it in? I think it might be the pilot bearing on the flywheel that caused a major ruckus! Who would be able to say that! They removed an entire transmission for that?
They wont believe us though xD Of that I am sure!

Great post, appreciate the humor, but are you screwing with us on the title? No pun intended.
Now that you mention it...
But then again we have different ideas of humor, that much is clear. 🤣
