If It Has Fuel And Spark It Should Start! (Finalizing The Small Stuff On The Rebuild!)

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

Finlly!

I've finally gotten the lucky break I needed to come finish things up on this engine rebuild!

Yeahp, well we ordered a prebuilt block and then all we had to do was stack up on all the extra's, like the altenator, waterpumps etc etc, all the goodies that it needs to run with!

Now this time around we took extra good care that everything went smoothly! Besides that grand techie isn't with us anymore so nobody can really make trouble around it!

She's looking real pretty if you ask me! It's a feeling I have to say! It's a damned nice feeling when stacking everything together and it coming out into such a beautifull thing! Must be just me!

For The Final Fit!

Well I don't exactly think this would be the final fit but for now it is!

The rear main oil seal on the crank-shaft! If the previous motor didn't overheat that badly one might have been able to re-use the old seal which was still pretty new. However re-using seals is not exactly recommended at all!

And that is why today we will be fitting a brand new one!

Maybe just a little nick of silicone right there should get stuff going good! Most would disagree but since the block assemble doesn't line up too well down there I'd like to tap some on there!

It Must Be A Techie Thing!

Okay well truth is I have said this earlier! When steel looks good it sure as hell does look good right!

Especially after putting so much effort in with all the matching surface areas, getting them clean, replacing and carefully refitting the new seals, greasing them all up, cleaning off every part that the other guy never had the will to do!

Damn these backyard techies! Bugs the shit out of me!

Pretty!

More Pretty!

The Fueling!

Oh baby this can be a killer on a machine!

Especially these diesels! It has so many diesel fuel lines going about and getting the right order to them is an absolute must!

It needs to feed and it needs to return and the order on which that happens has to be right! You can not have a pipe missing, otherwise it would feed when it needs to return or return when it needs to feed!

The previous tech really struggled with this one, but it's easier than easy when you've got an entire yard filled with these trucks? What was the fuzz? I also decided to do mine while the engine was still out of the engine bay!

The Wiring? Meh?!

Now this was a headache for me even when the other tech worked on it, because after he left I had to constantly fix wiring problems! Now I decided while the engine is still removed I am going to slam in a nice love and care session with this one!

I removed most of the old tape and wiring covers and addeds fresh tape, of-course It doesn't look brand new now but it looks better and without all that oily tape crap smearing everywhere! YUCK!

Now that looks a hell of a lot better doesn't it? I mean who could work with such a hot mess!

I tried keeping the loom exactly as it was, didn't want wiring going the wrong way around and stuff! Damn you really can't give this job to anybody but yourself if you want things done right in this trade sheeshhhh!

Only Then!

Only after everything has been prepped, etc the fuel lines and the wiring issues I had all that stuff!!

Here's the thing, I like having everything in order because if the day comes where you have to check on something you already have an idea of where what is left and how it was left and where to search for that one wire or one thing that wasn't in its place but is now!

When shit hits the fan it's just easier to catch it then, still a shit show though!

Anyways, I still have some work left to do here so let me get to that!!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.
