Days Gone: Dealing With Loose Ends
Well Hello There Fellow Gamers And Hivers!
In the last episode of Days Gone there was a few things that bothered me and is still bothering me. The first was Lisa, remember the young girl I rescued from that run over town Marion Forks? Well turned out Tucker knew her from before and is still treating her like some slave dog, I need to find some way to get her out of there, hmmm perhaps she can join me on the road, you know live a free life for once instead of slaving away for a bit of food. The thing is, it's hard to take care of someone... Especially now.
Then there is Boozer he isn't himself lately, I don't know if the man is getting sick from the wounds he sustained on his arms or if he just wants to get the hell out of here and move North already, see the thing is I have something keeping me here now and I also think that might bother the man a little too much.
It's Sights Like These That Can Make A Man Go Mad.
I have a lot going on now with this whole Dr O'Brian being still alive after the camp was overrun or so I thought and all the things he told me. Heck it might be that Sarah is still alive after all this time!
Whether or not she is I have to put my personal feelings aside, just for a while and deal with these drifters going around ambushing innocent people who are just trying to get by in this broken world.
I mean these folks were just murdered in cold blood, they didn't even have much on them, that much is clear but once a hound tastes blood it will lust for it until its last day.
It's time I give those hounds there last days!
Closest To Home.
There are a few of these drifter ambush camps out there, too many if you ask me but there is no point in nitpicking about which one to take out first, I decided to go for the one closest to home. That does make sense right?
Bear Creek Hot Springs Ambush Camp.
I decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and I doubt that it's a taste they'll be fond of...
I left in the dead of night seeing that an ambush during the night is what they are best at right? Well before I knew it I was right on their front gates, I had to throw the bike into a turning drift and tail it back before their sharpshooter saw me.
Luckily he was aiming up at the mountain side, so much for having an eye placed up high somewhere.
Now before I could do a full on attack (I wasn't sure if that was what I wanted to do in anycase) I had to clear out the surrounding areas of freakers, aint nothing as bad as being in a fire fight pinned down behind a car and you have freaker running down on you.
A sure way to kill yourself.
While I did some clearing one of the ambush camp drifters must have spotted or heard something, well he came out running to check all on his own.
All on his own he too died.
One By One They Fell Like Flies.
Notice what is painted on the rocks? Am I so wrong to rid the world of evil? I know I'm not God to judge them but I can surely send them to their judging!
I counted about fifteen armed men and women in the ambush camp, with one already sent to his judgement I had fourteen left, give or take if some are in hiding.
I decided to take out their eyes first, yeah the sharpshooter who doesn't really have one of the sharpest eyes. This might be their downfall after all you are only as strong as your weakest link.
All I had to do was shoot straight with my crossbow. Oh and yeah I decided to do the stealthy approach, well at-least until I got caught. Then it'll be all guns blazing out here!
If there is one thing I'll give them it would be that they chose their location very very wise!
The entrance was barred off, I had no way of getting in through the front gate at-least not from outside. The right flank was cut off by a river and the left flank was cut off by rough terrain.
It would seem that I only have one option and that is to gain access into the camp via the narrow passage way through the mountain, the one where the dead hanged restlessly.
I Had The High Ground And Now They Had No Chance, But Still They Kept On Coming.
It would seem to them like they had the upper hand if they did a counting game but what they didn't realize was that high ground didn't care for a numbers game. Certainly not with a rag tag band of misfits of whom none had the courage to storm together.
No no instead they one by one tried to come in for the kill.
I had them, this was my fight and my victory... They just didn't know it yet.
All I had to do was sit and wait for them to come to me, running to their own slaughter. Must feel bad.
And one by one they fell.
Slowly but surely I gained more and more ground all the while thinking to myself "I'm just one man? Not so tough now when someone is actually shooting back with force and meaning and sheer will to put you in the ground!"
I've nearly ended all of them... All but one woman, one woman who was determined not to give up! Why don't they ever give up? I have to say I respect that in someway!
She kept on shouting out how they have whiskey and that I can drink along with them if I wanted to, "They as if she didn't know all her friends were either dead or bleeding out on the ground."
Of-course I'm no fool, I've been down this beaten path one too many times and you can't play a player.
See here's the thing.
When you know you have no other outcome don't be the foolest fool.
She tried persuading me to have a sit down and talk things out, the problem here was that I didn't respond to her rambling and she most likely wanted me to speak so that she could know where I was.
But since she kept talking I knew where she was.

Those human outposts could get crazy sometimes. I would always stealth as long as I could with the bow before going guns blazing.
It's a bit creepy, but in similar situations there are groups of people who act that way. The game poses something that we wish would never happen in the real world.
The story of the game is quite good.
