A Bad Build Into A Good One! (Let's Get It! Part1)
Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
First Glance Is Bad!
Well when I pulled this one open I told bossman sheeessshhh I don't think we can save this one! But of-course we still had to do a teardown on it, so there was that...
Doing the tear down really revealed a lot! A LOT I TELL YOU!!
It surprised us! Because we've never actually seen a transmission so damned dirty on the inside that has so much steel sticking to the magnets that is actually not badly worn!
How did this happen? Well steep incline drive ways... incorrect driving technique all that jazz!
All torn out! By the way my hands were beyond dirty! That greyish substance sticks like clutch dust! It's real bad! I mean reallll bad!
No Damage?
This is freaky! And I mean freaky!
At first we didn't see any hard breaks! But then we thought okay the bushes will all be worn out! This was not the case at all!
So we might be able to save this one up nicely!
Now we are going to replace the bushes and polish all the running surfaces again just to be sure nothing is at fault!
I really can't explain how these running surfaces are so beautifull with all this steel filled up in the transmission! Oh well somethings aren't meant to be known I suppose! Looks like the filter did it's job there!
New Bushes!
Now I wont be able to complete this build today so I thought I could share what I have so far!
Fitting in new bushes would make things very clear on this job! Then one would get the feel for everything and also know if any real damage has been done!
No doubt the torque converter is buggered! That much we know for a fact! But what we don't know anything about is the valve body but that is tomorrows problem!
Now I got these all prepped and ready for tomorrow! We going to do some nice building! Can't even wait for that!
Yup we got two of these to slap together and that is going to be a real joy!
The nice thing about this is the rhythm that one can catch and to top it off it saves a lot of time! A whole lot of it!
With that said, preparing everything still has me going for a lot of hardwork tomorrow! A lot of it!
I have to still tear down the pumps and the valve bodies and clean them! It's going to be a hard day ahead! A HARD ONE! But we are going to push and we will see the light at the end of the tunnel!
