Wednesday Walk the Harbor walk
Wednesday Walk the Harbor walk
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
The Harbor walk is a spot I walk quite often here in New Bedford, but funnily enough I dont take as many photos of it as other places I go,
the reason being, I often park at one end of it while it is still pretty dark, and ig I am not doing any light painting I take a couple of shots but focus more on getting steps in before it gets closer to sunrise and it gets lighter and I start taking more photos generally off the harbor walk then, but it is such a nice plae to stroll, especially in the early morning, when there is hardly any noise from traffic driving by, and often I have it all to myself early on, as it gets closer to sunrise I do see more walkers on it.

Let me tell you a little about it
The Harbor walk was Opened in 2015, and is 3,880 feet long and tops New Bedford’s hurricane barrier on the east side of the city’s southern peninsula.
The Hurricane barriers themselves are a lot older construction started in 1962 and were dedicated in 1966, from what I understand the hurricane barrier remains the largest manmade structure on the east coast of the United States and provides security for industries, the fishing fleet, and hundreds of homes in residential neighborhoods
It cost $1,000 a foot, is long enough to span the 3.5 mile width of New Bedford, is as high (and wider ) than The Great Wall of China, and has enough steel in it to build a Navy destroyer.
Its two huge steel navigational-sector gates weigh 400 tons apiece-each 35 tons heavier than the biggest locomotive ever built-and each as tall as a six-story house. When the gates swing shut at the touch of a button to lock out devastating storm tides, they create a pond inside the barrier which could cover 6,500 acres of land with a foot of water. They keep out much more of course.
there are entrances to go up on the walk way at each end,

The water on one side and houses on the other, imagine the sea breeze on my face and the fresh air they just add to the beauty of this spot

And this is at the end of the Harbor walk, looking along the rest of the wall heading out to the gates, that portion dos not have a walkway built on it

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.
I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.
unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Definitely a beautiful place for a walk. Makes me want to smell that salty ocean air again. It's been decades since I have been that close to the ocean.
Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay.
It must be wonderful to have all these places to yourself; how great that you visit early to see beautiful sunrises.
Excellent shots.
Have a beautiful day.
Good day, Mr. @tattoodjay
Honestly, it doesn't surprise me that you walk around these places a lot, since they are truly beautiful, ideal for starting the day with stunning sunrise views.
Beautiful photos.
The times you choose for these walks are ideal because of the colours that form on the horizon and in the sky, making the places enchanting. I love the second photo, it's great. And that area is one of the most beautiful. Thank you for this walk!
Amazing picture 🤩🤩
Indeed you captured the best photos!
Happy #wednesdaywalk! love those pastels you were catching in these photos. Nature provides lots of different color palettes if you go out looking with your camera enough times 🙂
The morning atmosphere at the pier, the blue sea reflected off the clouds. The sun was about to rise with an orange hue, very beautiful. Have a great day.
