Wednesday Walk on East Beach

Wednesday Walk on East Beach

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

Today I will share some shots from a walk I took the other day on East Beach Here in New Bedford

East Beach is a nice wide and fairly long sandy Beach which gets very popular on nice summer days I have driven past it during the day in Summer and see the crowds, but i am not one for being in crowds, plus with all the skin cancer I have had removed I avoid being out in the sun in the peak of the day, so most of my visit tot he beach are early morning such as when these photos were taken

I got there early so played around with my Light painting gear initially

Then as the Sun colors came and it got a bit lighter I walked along the beach getting shots

Speaking of walking i have reduced my daily goals a bity, since Seeing my General Doctor the other day he said I have lost enough weight and just try and maintain that weight, so I have reduced my step goal a bit, still trying to get close to 10K some days, but most days happy if I do 8K steps

and I cannot resist taken a shot of the life guard tower while on the beach

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Neither I know how to play volleyball, nor I went to the beach. I am thinking, I am useless in this dimension 😆

Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay, how are you?

What a beautiful beach! It must be a beautiful sight to see with so many crowds.

It's the perfect place to watch a beautiful sunrise.

Have a beautiful day.

Apparently 7000 is the new golden number, so as long as you are hitting at least that you should be okay. I struggle on most days sadly. Maybe once I am retired I will have better luck with it!

I must admit i am struggling to slow down to 7000, I think I have only had one day under 10K and that was 9000, but i need to maybe today only have done 4k steps so far

need to get the right balance I dont want to loose any more, which I still am LOL and dont want to gain too much

What a beautiful beach, and those colors on the horizon make it perfect for a great walk. It's good to protect yourself from the sun at that time of day and always take care of your skin from now on. Big hug!🤗

I'm not a fan of beaches, but seeing this post made me want to walk on soft sand and contemplate the horizon that stretches out over the beach. Cheers!

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay

What a beautiful and colorful sunrise! No wonder you always visit this lovely place.

All the photos are gorgeous, but the swimmer's viewing point is truly beautiful.

Excellent shots.

That sunset is quite beautiful... It is one of my favorite types of sunset, a warm, soft peach color...

Your light painting looks awesome too! I've never gotten to experience beach life, but it would be incredible to experience this every day... Thank you for sharing 🙏

I can see why this would be a popular beach and attract the crowds. But same as you, I would also prefer going there in the early hours to avoid the crowds. And yes, we need to be careful once you experience skin cancer. I've been there too and know exactly what you are talking about.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us!

I am poretty good if I have to be out inthe sun with a hat sunscreen etc, but with havign had 25 bits removed I just prefer avoiding it, common of course for the parts of the world we come from

It seems like you've had it worse than me. It was touch-and-go for me, where they wanted to cut a piece out of my left ear, though. But with some intensive treatment, we managed to avoid the cutting. But it was still a wakeup call to me. Yes, as you say, coming from the of the world we come from, it is quite common. Especially as a young man, doing duty in the bush war on the border of Southwest Africa (now Namibia) and Angola, I was exposed the the sun a lot. My natural hair color is light brown, but when I returned home, my hair looked blond, not to mention the tan I had...lol.

I am light skinned as well and in my teens used to work in a Market Gardens out in the sun all day mostly just in shorts, felt good at the time but came back to get me in later years LOL
