Wednesday Walk in Haskell Gardens
Wednesday Walk in Haskell Gardens
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
First off do not be shocked but I am actually sharign a recent walk, in the last few days my shoulder has been a little better and some nice weather so I have made the most of it and got out for three walks so can share a recent one, and will start with the first walk I took a visit to the haskell gardens here in New Bedford
A little bit about the gardens
The late Allen C. Haskell, a lifelong New Bedford resident and famed horticulturist, assembled these six acres—the site of a traditional New England-style common, beautiful historic gardens, and one of the oldest homes in the city—over more than 30 years. Today, it’s a public park and unlikely botanical respite, blooming in the heart of New Bedford.
It is supported by a Group called the Trustees who maintain many parks inthe area
Here is the entrance and one of the buildings

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I'm glad your shoulder has been better lately and that you could get out for some walks!
I like that colourful greenhouse!
THanks I had my firts Physicla therapy yesterday and feelignit today but all worth it to keep improving
As long as there is improvement, I do agree... it's all worth it👍
Exactly :)
!BEER
Cheers and !BEER
So good to hear the shoulder is i proving and you went out for a walk. That is a lot of progress… let’s hope it continues.
Great gardens to wander around. A shame no spring flowers yet, but soon they will be there in no time.
Interesting that there is a private property on the grounds.
Not sure I would want to live there with many visitors around haha
Great captures.
Have a beautiful day 😊
!HUG
Thanks, I did my first physical Therapy the other day she streteched it all out and progress went back a few days but then loosedned up after a couple of days still a way to go till its all good and normal but at least I can do more now :)
I drove past these gardens yesterday and noticed the trees had started to blossom waiting for a nice day to revisit them
Actually I think this is a hidden gem in the city at most i have only seen two other people there anytime i have visited there, a shame so few inthe city seem to even know it is there
Oh that sounds good. A lot of progress. Worth sticking with the therapy a while.
That is the most important thing you can do a lot more now. So happy for you it finally changed and there is progress.
That’s great. I hope you can revisit soon to capture it all.
Maybe it is good that it is a hidden gem, for you I mean, not many people around. Haha just the way we like it.
But I fully understand. A bit of a shame not many go or even know about it. As it looks wonderful to wander around or just enjoy.
Have a nice day @tattoodjay
Well yeah I do hate crowds so there is a benifit to it being a hidden gem LOL
and I will keep workingon my shoulder, but happy now I can get out for photo walks again, mind you not readyt o take out my biggest lenses yet
have a great day
It is a benefit for sure haha
I can imagine how happy you are. I know how you feel when you can’t go out. Somedays I can’t go out with my camera at all, it is just to heavy for my back. I don’t even have big lenses (yet)
Enjoy the walks you can do now. With time you are building it all up again.
Have a great Friday and weekend!
Finding the right balance i guess is key for us both, i am just taking one lens and the camera at the moment not my fully loaded bag as I used to, and the biggest lens for sure is not coming out for a while
Take care of your back
Yes, finding the right balance.
Good to hear you just take out your camera with one lens, ai do the same now. It will improve for you.
Thank you. Doing my best…
Have a lovely Sunday.
👍🙂👍
Even without many spring flowers, the grounds and buildings have their own charm.
Thanks kindly your support is appreciated

I'm glad to hear your shoulder is doing better! I recently finished up my PT and while I am still a bit sore, it is much better than it was.
I had my firts PT the other day was painful for a day or so after, but now it is easign up and doign my exercises three times a day, meant to do PT twice a week, but may only do that for a couple of weeks then cut it back, I am good at doing theexercises at home and the copays add up quickly
Yeah, I hear you there. I think my last PT bill was something like $170 and that was with insurance adjusted! Good luck with the exercises! I've got my five or six that I do a couple times a week too!
I am perhaps being over zealous, I have 6 that the therapist gave me to do twice a day I am doing them three times a day at the moment, and adding some others that feel like they help to me
MIne isnt to bad the copay I think is $30 per session but at twice a week it adds up
Just take it easy! If you overdo it you could end up in a worse spot!
Tryign to get just the right balance, just walked into a door with the bad shoulder, which was feeling good but clearly hit it in the wrong spot right now it is throbbing away
typing left handed for now LOL
That's the worst! I was doing that quite frequently when mine was first hurting and it's a killer for sure!
Yeah funny how that happens when one had an injury, I took it real easy yesterday, but today it was feeling a bit better so will try and do the exercises they gave me twice today
That sounds like a smart plan!
