Wednesday Walk Boo at the zoo

Wednesday Walk Boo at the zoo

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

For this week I am sharing a few shots from a visit to Buttonwood Park Zoo here in New Bedford

Its a cute little Zoo and they occassionally have events, recently they had one called Boo in the Zoo going with the halloween theme, I didnt go on the weekend when it was on, I hear they had a good turn out and the children loved it, I decided no to visit while it was going on, as A I dont like crowds, and B I am always hesitant taking photos of children in a setting such as this, some parent smay not like it and think I am a dirty old man LOL

This is what I first saw when I entered the zoo

They had a variety of things on display, from pooky to fall/autumn items such as this scarecrow

and with the spooky theme a pirate skeleton

I actually went to the zoo, to of course catch some shots of the animals, but was more focused on the fall colors around the zoo, which will be another post sometime.

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

These kinds of activities are always fun. I remember taking my nieces to the one they did down in Columbus many years ago. So many great memories!

I think its great when they do events like this, here they have had a lot of Trunk or treat events, a safe place for people to bring their kids to enjoy probably a lot safer than walking the streets in some areas

We have a lot of those too and I think it is a great idea. They do it here at the school and if the weather is not great they do it in the hallways. I saw some people complaining the other day that they hate trunk or treat style events. I think that's just silly.

I think its silly as well, the world is goign crazy, some kids were going door to door in our neighberhood last nnight, quite young and I looked out not an adult in sight, not sure if I had kids these days I would let them walk the streets on halloween if i wasnt with them

Yeah, I don't think I would for sure. I just heard the other day about a crazy druggie that has been wandering the neighborhoods. This world is a scary place now!

How are you dear friend @tattoodjay good day
Walking through a zoo seems to be an excellent option, especially if everything is decorated to welcome Halloween

That looks awesome Jay and whilst I don't mind crowds I would have done the same as you because of point B. Mrs T likes going to the local comicon but I won't take pictures because of the dirty old man thing too!

Absolutely beautiful halloween pictures, am sure the kids had a wonderful time. Just like you I hate crowds and rarely take pictures of children. At the park, I avoid it because no parent would approve of a stranger taking their child's picture in this day and age.
The good thing is that you were out getting the steps in and improving your health. Thank you for sharing and keep going strong. Stay blessed :}
