I do use the tripod sometimes for the moon, but if its a full moon its so bright its also easy to take shots of it handheld as exposure time is so short

Yeah, you are right, as the full moon is easy to get freehand.

I havent used it for ages, the frozen shoulder made it too heavy to carry, but maybe its time to give it a try
Take care of that shoulder, as you really don't want it to start acting up again.
