I use a tripod all the time in the morning, hand held its impossible unless zooming in on the moon

One would think that you use a tripod to get the moon shots. But your photos are all great, and so it must be the tripod that helps a good deal.
I am only a free hand guy.

I do use the tripod sometimes for the moon, but if its a full moon its so bright its also easy to take shots of it handheld as exposure time is so short

Yeah, you are right, as the full moon is easy to get freehand.

Cool, I havent for ages but when I go to get shots of the moon I take my big heavy lens and can zoom in a lot

I havent used it for ages, the frozen shoulder made it too heavy to carry, but maybe its time to give it a try
Take care of that shoulder, as you really don't want it to start acting up again.
