Mono Monday more extreme colors

Mono Monday more extreme colors

Good Morning, I hope you all had a good weekend, starting the week as I tend to do with a few Mono shots, but this week with a twist.

@bozz asked on a recent Mono post "you could have a monochrome photo that was all hues of blue or green or some other color couldn't you"

And It got me thinking I mostly do very subtle tones of color when I edit my Mono images, so why not for a change go a little bit more overboard with the color I use instead of black for the mono Images I will share this week and hence this post came to be

Starting with this shot of the Swing Truss Bridge that connects Popes and Fish Islands here in New Bedford, where i went for purplish tones

Now purple and blue are the shades I most often use when doing Mono edits, ohh yeah and sepia works well for older buildings, and it was fun to do these a bit more extreme amping up the colors, but will I do these often, probably not, I like more subtle hints of color myself, not saying i think there is anything wrong with going with more bold colors its all a matter of personal preference.

Sort of matches my personality, as hard as some may find it to believe, I am for the most part pretty shy and quiet, except when around people that I know well then I get a bit more out of my shell

For this next one I went with red/orange tones by the boat ramp on Rodney French Blvd here, the white line in the photo was a boat heading out but with the fog and long exposure it gave that cool effect

I went with green for this next one at Neds Point in Mattapoisett, with it being a green field it just seemed the thing to do

THis one with blue tones and closer to what I normally do a bit more subtle and i do love the blues

and the last one perhaps not extreme at all, a Standard B&W edit

And that’s all folks

Those are awesome. I think the green one is probably my favorite just for the fact that green is one of my favorite colors. They all turned out really well though.

Nice color edits! That first one is kind of funky with everything in purple, interesting contrasts that result! The red one feels like Mars, the green one I'm not sure, but it's cool! Looks like you had some fun monkeying around with those, great job!
