Mono Monday and a couple of splashes of color

Mono Monday and a couple of splashes of color

Good Morning and I hope your weekend went well

and wishing you a good week ahead

Mine was nice and quiet took it pretty easy,

Today I have the Hernia surgery head into the hospital at 10:30 and should be hone this afternoon all going well

Its been driving me nuts being sensible and staying off the computer and not getting out for photo walks but its been the right thing to do the Hernia has caused me enough pain at times nit doing those things so it was a good decision to take it easy
And no doubt my wife will rightly insist i keep taking it easy till the after surgery visit with Dr in probably two weeks when i will get the stitches out

i must have had over 250 stiches put in me over the years mostly from skin cancers caught early and removed

I at one stage had a table keeping track of the stiches that I could remember at the time, and when I completed it I was at 200+ stitches, and I guess I got overwhelmed thinking about it and decided to stop counting.

Starting with this shot on the pier by the boat ramp and one end of the harbor walk here in New Bedford MA, I was trying a bit of light painting and this one did not work as planned but when I tried it in mono I kind of liked the effect

And this next one down at the port early one morning a bit of motion from the water makes parts a little soft or blurry but again I kind of like the feel that gives

Perhaps i should have saved this shot for Halloween week, this is in the Oak Grove cemetery near my house.

We live right next door to the cemetery and see it from my backdoor, and do not mind it all all, but I have one colleague who is terrified of living that close to a cemetery, so much so when he did visit here a couple of years back he wouldnt come to his house we had to meet him downtown

I guess this isnt really a splash of color more half and half playing around with my light painting gear

this tractor was in the outside area at Cisco Breweries recently along with a few hail bails here and there, probably for some themed event they were having

Best regards, Jay. That's a lot of stiches over the years, yikes!

All strength to you JJ, and just take it easy, as the post op is also a critical time, to prevent the thing from growing again. I remember well when my giant sized hernia was removed.

It sounds like you’ve had quite a journey both with your health and your photography. The photos look great, too!I like how the monochrome tones bring out the textures and mood of each scene. It’s also interesting how the light painting turned out differently than planned but still gave such a unique effect. Wishing you a smooth surgery and quick recovery. And hoping you’ll be back to your photo walks soon!

You already know my favorite is going the be the cemetery, such a serene and peaceful picture. I do love the color on the first one, interesting use of orange in there to make it kind of spooky! And some great light painting to round off the morning!

I hope all goes well in surgery! It's a pretty standard one so I'm sure you'll be back in fighting shape in no time!

By now, your operation will be over! I hope that you recover well, and even though it likely is painful at first (mine was very sore), you will be way more comfortable than before! Get well soon @tattoodjay!
