Fun Friday the Lumibricks Medieval Troupe Carriage
Fun Friday the Lumibricks Medieval Troupe Carriage
Good Morning have a good day and weekend ahead
Today I am sharing one of my #lumibrick Builds the Medieval Troup carriage
and first off I should say the company sent me this as a freebie as part of the content creator group which they added me to, but that said the thoughts I share are my unbiased opinion of the set
Now this was a set I had no intention to buy, the medieval
series was not one I was going to get into, but it was a fun build with some super cool details which I will get into further into the post
I am also doing this review a bit differently, I normally build the set, and then take it downstairs to take photos of it with my Sony camera, but I thought I would focus more on the process for this post and am sharing photos I took during the build process taken with my samsung phone
Would really love feedback from those who have seen my other posts which format they like, this one more on the process, and the other with photos when it is finished
This set was I would say a medium size set with 1248 pieces
Starting off with the box it came in, they do provide very sturdy and well made boxes, I do not have room to store them all, but I do feel kind of bad cutting them up to go into the recycling bin

when you open the box this is what you see the manuals and bags of pieces

The first thing I do is organize the bags, each of the bags are numbered, 1-1 1-2 2-1 2-2 2-3 etc, so I organize them in sets of bags not being a big set this one wasn't to hard to do, the bigger sets finding space to organize the bags can be a challenge.
Now one thing I feel they could improve is if when you get to a new sets of bags they tell me how many bags they are, ht myself out in a previous build where I thought I had all the 6 bags and part way through them thought i had some missing parts, but then realized I had missed taking one of the 6 bags out of the box.
Now you may be thinking but you had the bags organized into piles, after i organize them I put them back into the box in order to have space on my table to work
and one other mistake I made also on a previous set, I accidentally opened the set of 9 bags instead of the 6's

the orange box contains the lights for the set, the first thing in the instructions is to check all the lights, which I did, and then next up is to build the minifigs, in this case 5 of them
this shot also shots the instructions in the manual, I find them very easy to follow, although when you have similar colored bricks, ie different shades of brown it can be tricky to work out which color to look for

now onto building the set, so I opened and organized by color the first set of bags, I do that for each set of bags but will only show it for the first set
Thats something I do to make it easier to find bits when building, I know some others do this, some just pour them all out into a big pile, and some or at least one person I have seen organize them not just by color but by shape of the bricks, i.e. the four stud bricks together the 5 stud, etc etc, that probably makes it even easier when finding the bits when building but I don't go that far

bags one completed, no lights added yet

now one criticism of me not the instructions, I sometimes get on a roll and take a quick look at the picture and start putting it together, and miss seeing one bit and only notice it later and have to go back and added, I think that's my hyper full steam ahead mode kicking in, when it happens I then slow down and am more careful for a little while at least

And now bags two are complete complete with a dragon

thought the dragon was so cool I took a closer in shot of it
Now some have asked how long it takes me to build a set, I now pace myself and only build one set of bags a day, and depending on the set and set of bags that may be an hour or many be a couple I didn't time myself for this set so not sure of the total building time
and also in bag two were these cool details drums weapons etc

now bags three are complete with these walls that open

more cool details added with bag 4

its starting to come together

and some lights added, the one on the left and a couple inside under the ceiling

NOw back when I tested the lights I thought it was cool and something new I had not seen before they had one light that is controlled with a touch switch, but when I got to this stage I forgot about it and thought one of the lights was only intermittently working, which would not have bene an issue as the company is great and sending replacement parts if parts are missing or a light string is faulty,
I took it apart a bit to check the lights and then suddenly remembered the touch control, which is mounted behind the panel I show in the next photo, and sure enough when I touch it the lights come on, and if you hold your finger on it for a bit it adjusts the brightness, how cool is that

Bags five add the horses and carriage

Bags six add the stage and backgrounds

And this is where I was pretty impressed the background behind the stage that is lit up by the adjustable light, and the panels on the doors that are open there are two different sets of panels you can use with a different them
and also they add the little clear plastic pieces so could could move the dragon and characters around and act out a scene if you wanted to

and different minifigs for each scene

Now I really enjoyed this build the details and lights are so cool and a nice touch to be able to change the scenery, but will I buy more of the medieval sets, probably not, they are cool, but I have only so much space to display these and will stick with other themes most likely

I used to love the Lego medieval sets when I was a kid. I had one of the big castles and I played with that thing all the time. This is a really cool set. Even better that you got it for free!
