a morning walk at the port

Good Morning and have a great day

Today I will share photos from a early morning walk at the port here in New Bedford

Welcome to the Port of New Bedford—a place where the scent of the sea isn't a perfume; it's a permanent fixture, woven into the very fabric of the city's sturdy, working-class soul.
If you’re looking for a quaint, postcard-perfect harbor filled with bobbing sailboats and people sipping rosé, you’ve missed the channel entirely. New Bedford is the heavyweight champion of American fishing—a gritty, bustling powerhouse that has held the title of the #1 fishing port in the nation by value for over two decades straight.
This is where the serious work happens. The port doesn't sleep; it merely blinks

The fleet is dominated by the scallopers. Scallops are New Bedford's gold standard, the currency of the harbor. These highly specialized boats haul in tens of millions of dollars worth of these tasty bivalves every year

Went for a mix of mono and color for this one, out on what I think is a temporary pier to allow more access for boats to dock

Rusty and worn down from the hard work these ships put in, I have all the respect inthe world for those who work on these boats such hard work in tough conditions sadly I read now and again of fishermen lost out at sea.

And even though I have never worked on one and it's been years, if not decades, since I have been out on the water on a boat, I do find them cool to see on my early morning walks

I really need to try scallops sometime. I don't think I have ever had them in my life. What do they even taste like? Is it more like fish or like crab/lobster?

A morning walking at the port was a relaxing day, when the sea was peaceful so that we can calm and think about the happening of our surroundings.
