a few piers here and there

a few piers here and there

Good Morning and I hope your weekend is starting well

For todays Post I thought i would go with a theme of Piers, there one thing I tend to take a lot of shots of with the places I go for walks.
Now I am sure we all have favorite spots or sorts of places we like to go for our walks, and as much as I do love nature and trails, going out early morning for most of my walks when it is still dark trails are not a good idea, but my favorite without a doubt is to walk anywhere where i am by the water, and living here in New Bedford, a lot of the water is by the coast, and I go to plenty of spots that have piers of some form or another

and one I go to often is Fort Taber park and I walk by this pier, mostly taking shots of it from the other side on the beach, , the white line in this shot was a fishing boat heading back in and for the long exposure you just see the trail of its lights

Not sure why I was using an aperture of F16 for this shot, well now that I think about it I probably do.
I was more than likely doing some light painting and I crank up the aperture to let less light in and hence be able to take longer exposures which I need for light painting, and forget to switch it for this shot

Another spot i often visit is the end of the harbor walk which you can see the hurricane barrier wall to the left, and get a shot of this pier next tot he boat ramp there

Now strictly speaking this is not a pier but a dock I guess it is the ramp/pier/dock heading out tot he docks at the POpes Island Marina

This is another pier/dock, behind the Cisco Breweries Restaurant, in summer the restaurant has a boat that can pick up customers who anchor their boats off the coats near here

and another shot of this pier by the boat ramp

And that’s all folks

Good morning. I have always loved walking along the beach. Here in Venezuela, in Cumaná, Sucre, there are several beaches and a boardwalk, where I often walk with my husband. Not only does it make us feel great, but we also enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Here in Cumaná, there are few peers, only outside the city. Beautiful photographs.

Beautiful shots of those New Bedford piers, JJ! The long exposures really bring out the tranquility of the early morning light, especially that light trail from the fishing boat in the Fort Taber photo—it's got such a serene, almost ethereal vibe. I totally get your love for waterside walks; there's something meditative about being by the coast at dawn. Loved the honest bit about forgetting to adjust the aperture after light painting; it reminds me of my own slip-ups in the field. Keep exploring and sharing these hidden gems!

All the photos are beautiful, but the third image is my favorite.
