The Value of Music on Leo

Music on Leo is something that we discussed a great deal on here. It is also something that has faded. This is not surprising since most have the attention span of gold fish.

For the moment, this is not a problem since there are other things to do and some technical issues. One thing that is required is the return of polls. To me, this will really enhance the value of what is being created. Having the ability for people to vote on the songs is a nice level of engagement.

Another potentiality is the addition of Threads to evergreen eligibility. This is something we are going to have to push and not let the development team slide on. Elon Musk brought this to the forefront with ad revenue sharing on X. There is no reason the should not apply to threads since we are dealing with pages that can generate both page views and clicks on ads.

We want to incentivize people to generate content that garners page views. Here is the main premise behind Music on Leo.

Before getting to that, let us delve into a move that should excite all.

Taking Money From Web 2.0

While Music on Leo is rather archaic, at least for the moment, it does offer the potential to design and create what we want. Anyone is free to add songs they like. These are captured in the database. We also have the ability to create playlists. Again, we can captured these in a repository.

Is this an ideal substitute for what is out there? No. But the difference is that Music on Leo is free and, for anyone holding Leo Power, does feed into the ad revenue campaign.

As we can see from the thread above, here is something saving $10 or $11 per month by cancelling the Spotify Premium subscription. That is $120 per year, or the payment for Leo Premium.

That was a target of mine from the start. Could we pull a bit of money away from Web 2.0? While it isn't going to cause the entire system to collapse, every dollar shifting is important. This is a game of transactions. That monthly one that ended up padding Spotify is now over.

It is what has to occur across the entire Web3 stratosphere. The advantage that Web 2.0 has is the ability to offer services. Within the world of Web3, this is non-existent. Of course, it isn't surprising since most of the industry are green candle people who complain more than they build.

Music on Leo shows how non-technical people can build.

The Tip of the Iceberg

I am going to be blunt on this point:

If you are not building a database on Hive, you are going to be kicking yourself.

It is really that simple. This cannot be stressed enough. I can assure you, anyone who misses this chance will beat him or herself up.

The thread about NFTs is likely going to be missed by most people. On this one, I am not going to explain it. You are going to have to take my word on it. When I said in my most recent video that LeoGlossary will likely be tokenized, most presumed it would be a fungible token.

Here is where the magic of Web3 will enter. There is little point delving into it now since we lack the technical capabilities. However, down the road, on Hive, we will be able to create something that could make people a lot of money. With what Leo is building, this all ties in together.

I keep harping upon building a business. That means having something that can be sold. Content creators tend not to build businesses as much as a brand. One still have to show up each day and generate more content. They generate income, not equity.

This is taking things to another level. Web3 can completely alter activity. Therefore, one is better served the more of it he or she does. Even more importantly, one will come out further ahead if that activity has any value.

For those who are connecting the dots at home, perhaps you grasp this. If so, you should have been hit with a major "aha" moment.

What I can tell you is that Music on Leo, if we get evergreen on threads, is a great way to position oneself for what I am discussing. That said, anything with database creation could be eligible depending upon the market.

All of this is above and beyond rewards.

Digital real estate is something often discussed yet rarely put into practice. What I am describing here is the epitome of that.

In closing , I intend to be like Wayne Gretzky and be where the puck is going. If you think content creation and acting like a user is the future, good luck to you. That is not Web3.

The second thread posted shows that some truly do get it.
