The Amazon Model - Prime
When delving into networks, there are lots of area of study to embark upon. We have many different models to look at, many of them in operation today.
The Internet was a major boom for network science. Through this, the connections and characteristics could be thoroughly explored. Researchers were able to look at many different kinds, including digital, social, economic, and biological. The results is that we see similar patterns among them all.
With LEO, we are also generating a complex organism. Obviously, these evolve on their own. However, having a mental picture of where we want different aspects to go is important. This is especially true for those behind different projects.
To me, while we discuss social media platforms a great deal, the one to truly model is Amazon. This is a network that stands in contrast to social media yet is evolving into something even more powerful. I am a fan of Elon Musk and what he is creating. That said, what Amazon is putting together is very impressive.
It is something that Leo should mimic wherever possible.
Leo Premium
The starting point for value generation with this platform has to be Leo Prime. It is the one area where monetization is starting. We also can see how this can enhance what is starting to be generated.
Why is Amazon so successful?
There are many facets to this question that one can take a look at. To me, it all stems from the basic concept of providing those on the platform with lots of options. Just consider all that Amazon owns that you can utilize. Much of it is free, requiring you only to visit their websites. This is true for things such as IMDB.
However, we know there is an enormous monetization component to Amazon. Here is where Amazon Prime enters.
As stated in other articles, if you are one who is involved with Amazon in any way, you are basically the caboose of a horse if you are not a Prime member. They offer so much that the $100-$120 per year that it cost requires no thought. The value received in return is much greater.
Of course, this is an expense to Amazon as they acquire (or build out) more services. Amazon Prime Video is a classic example. This company is spending a lot of money to take on the likes of Disney. Nevertheless, it is worth it since this helps to enhance the value of the membership.
There are a projected 180 million Prime members. The goal is obviously to not only for them to pay the subscription fee but also to buy stuff from Amazon stores. Keeping people in the ecosystem is a great way to do this.
Here is where we see the model clearly. It is also how Leo Premium should be structured.
The goal is to make Leo Premium so valuable that people who are involved with Leo are foolish not to have it. The way to do this is to keep building services tied to it, enhancing the value.
We want it to the point where 10 HBD a month is laughable for what is received in return.
Innovation
Once this concept (model) is embraced, it simply becomes a process of building more. While this is true for the entire platform, advanced features can expanding the desire for the product.
For example, one area I am very interested in is LeoAI. While this is not going to rival ChatGPT or Grok, it is something that can be extremely beneficial to people on Leo. There is also the potential to expand AI other than chatbots and offer that to the users.
Imagine being able to engage in image generation through LeoAI. That could be tied to the creation of one's article. At the same time, Leo could also start producing a library of royalty free, AI generated images for people to use. Suddenly, the platform becomes a repository for images that can be utilized for different purposes.
Naturally, this not only applies to the development team. Individuals need to take a look at what Amazon is doing and replicate it where possible.
I often mention how each account on Leo is a business. Amazon is a place to get ideas. Whatever they are doing, perhaps see if you can replicate something, even if in simple form, on Leo. They have a proven strategy.
Part of this is the exponentiality in network development. On Leo, we simply need more facets that feed into the whole. Music on Leo, LeoGlossary, and NewsonLeo are examples of this concept. As each expands, it helps the rest, and can be leveraged for a gain of greater than 1. (i.e. linear).
If nothing else, think of ways to feed the database, through Threads, with information that could be built upon yet also feeds LeoAI.
Here are a few ideas:
- BillsonLeo
- HistoryonLeo
- LeoGeography
- LeoRecipes
There is really no limit to what is possible. Threads coupled with long form is very powerful. A lot of this can be tied to LeoGlossary, further enhancing the utility of the information.
All of this can go in many different directions. That is how network form. They follow the directions of nature.
Posted Using InLeo Alpha
Leo recipes, i would totally use that, we have members from almost every country.
It would be easy to build for Leo Premium members.
Well, count me it. We can go even further by adding cocktail recipes. Ha ha!
Already being built.

Cool, thanks for the link.
LeoRecipes sounds tasty! I also like the idea of LeoReviews and LeoMusic!
