the problem with the neocons is they look at the world through their eyes pushing their ideology. They do not realize that the other side has is own ideology that isn't near the same (in the case with Iran).

Exactly. They assume everyone wants the same version of "freedom" and "progress" they're selling often forgetting that cultural, religious, and historical contexts shape values deeply. In Iran’s case, it’s not just resistance, it’s an entirely different worldview.

Bunch of control freak bullies. I bet their significant others hate their asses.

To be fair, Iranian leadership over the years has repeatedly made statements expressing its goal is to destroy Israel. That would seem to be their government's main ideology.

The problem this isnt a state war. Shia control of Iran means that not only is Israel on the target but other Sunni areas that are friendly to the West.

Whether that should be a U.S. problem is another question.

They have lost every war since WW2 and spent billions. There is no way this is a quick resolution like Trump is hoping. He is wrong. The Shias are going to dig in.

I think the main goal here, whether you agree with any of these actions or not, is to set Iran's nuclear program back a while. I think they have likely achieved that already. Regime change might be a secondary goal but probably more one of opportunity. Ultimately, that will depend on the people of Iran. I don't foresee the U.S. sending troops into Iran.

What difference is setting back Iran's nuclear program? To keep Iran from getting a nuke? Doesnt China, Russia, and North Korea all have nukes?

This was neocon nonsense. If the program is destroyed, now a call to Kim is even more likely.

That is the problem with the neocon mindset.

I think Iran would be more likely to use a nuke. Not saying they definitely would...but more likely. I doubt those other countries will give Iran a nuke because they don't want to be on the hook if Iran uses one. Time will tell, one way or the other.

I don't support U.S. involvement here though I might reconsider should Iran acquire ICBMs. Just saying I understand Israel's position given the Iranian regime's stated goal of wiping them out.
