I can't say enough to express my thanks to Jen for her partnership. Starting with my personal Day 1 in 2020, her vision, creativity and industry relationships were (and are) so apparent that I had no doubt our work together could be transformative not only to Amazon, but also to the industry as a whole. The Rings of Power, Fallout, Reacher, Red One, Maxton Hall, The Idea of You, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Saltburn, Road House, Beast Games, Culpa Mia/Tuya and others speak to the hits under her leadership that have stirred cultural conversation and delivered incredible storytelling to worldwide audiences…and that list covers only the past 18 months. In addition, her leadership is evidenced by the senior team she's hired and developed…a team that I know will step up in a big way going forward.

Part 1/8:
Instability in the Job Market: A Closer Look
In recent times, the employment landscape has become increasingly unpredictable, leaving many individuals in a state of anxiety regarding job security. Reports have surfaced that companies are hiring workers with the foreknowledge that layoffs will occur shortly after, leading to an unsettling reality where even newly hired employees face termination just days into their roles.
The Betrayal of Newly Hired Employees
Part 2/8:
A particularly jarring case involves a woman who, on only her second day at work, was informed by HR that her position had been eliminated. This shocking revelation came after she was initially extended an offer while the company was already aware of impending layoffs. The situation raises critical questions about the ethics of such hiring practices and the emotional toll it takes on employees. Many prospective employees argue that they would prefer transparency and honesty, even if it meant rescinding a job offer before the onboarding process began.
Costs of Living and Student Debt Crisis
Part 3/8:
The backdrop of these employment challenges is painted by rising costs of living and mounting student debt. Reports indicate that a staggering 9% of student loans are now in default, exacerbating financial strains on many individuals. The burden of debt is an encumbrance that severely restricts people's choices, such as the ability to move or change jobs. With escalating housing costs and inflation, individuals are being pushed to their financial limits, creating a generation forced to grapple with the steep cost of living and inadequate pay.
The Disconnect Between Corporations and Workers
Part 4/8:
Corporate America appears to be out of touch with the realities faced by employees. Cases of employees being terminated immediately after they provide notice to their employers reflect a broader trend of insecurity and disregard for employee loyalty. Conversations reveal that many are opting to stay in roles they dislike out of fear and financial necessity, highlighting a cycle of dependency and emotional exhaustion.
A recurring theme is the profound disconnect between corporate rhetoric of growth and the lived experiences of employees who feel undervalued. Employees witness executives celebrating company success while they themselves struggle to secure cost-of-living raises, further fueling resentment and dissatisfaction.
The Dangers of the 'Golden Handcuffs'
Part 5/8:
Many individuals find themselves trapped in what has been referred to as "golden handcuffs," where the fear of losing their job—and the associated life they’ve built—prevents them from seeking better opportunities. This chronic state of anxiety ultimately affects mental and physical health, as individuals become aware of the precariousness of their situations without any security net in place. Financial experts urge that creating an emergency fund and living below one's means is essential for achieving financial independence and peace of mind.
A Call to Prepare for Uncertainty
Part 6/8:
The uncertainty surrounding employment is a genuine concern, prompting financial and career counseling to advocate for greater employee preparedness. Individuals are advised to maintain a plan B, C, or even D, as job instability can strike at any moment. Simple measures like maintaining savings and budgeting for emergencies can provide a crucial safety net when the unexpected happens.
The recent shift towards hiring practices that equal ghost jobs adds another layer of complexity to the job market. A staggering percentage of job listings are described as filled without hiring anyone, leaving candidates frustrated after long interview processes that afford them little or no security in the end.
Conclusions on Workplace Dynamics
Part 7/8:
As companies push for greater profitability and efficiency at the expense of employee well-being, there lies a critical need for reform in how organizations view their workforce. One solution could be encouraging transparency around job stability and hiring processes, while also ensuring competitive compensation packages that reflect the reality of inflation and living costs.
The implications of these changes are profound and extend beyond mere employment statistics. The relationship between company culture, ethics, and consumer trust must be revisited as the current state of affairs reveals an environment where workers are left feeling vulnerable, expendable, and lacking in opportunities for growth or advancement.
Part 8/8:
It is essential for employees, no matter their industry, to evaluate their worth, prioritize their mental well-being, and recognize the importance of preparing for the uncertainties that lie ahead in today’s volatile job market. The narrative of employees prioritizing stability for emotional health continues to develop, acting as a wake-up call for organizations to reconsider their approach to employment. The road to systematically shifting corporate culture may be long, but it is necessary— and it starts with treating employees as valuable assets, not mere cogs in a machine.
In his 43-page opinion, the judge also noted that Musk had posted a tweet on March 26, 2022 indicating he was thinking about buying a different social network, not Twitter, although he had already amassed millions of shares in Twitter as of March 25, 2022.
He wrote, it was "reasonable" to read Musk's tweet "as a statement meant to misdirect the public to think that buying Twitter was just a fantasy." The judge also wrote that, "it is more likely than not that Musk issued a material misleading representation," with those tweets.
Musk ultimately bid on and led a leveraged buyout of Twitter in 2022 in a deal worth about $44 billion. He made sweeping changes to the business, the social platform and later renamed it X.
As previously reported, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a similar lawsuit against Musk over alleged failure to properly disclose purchases of Twitter stock in 2022 before he took over the company.
On Friday, Musk said another one of his ventures, xAI, was merging with the social network in an all-stock transaction, valuing the artificial intelligence business at $80 billion and the social media business at $33 billion.
“And many others, for example, including the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” he said, using North Korea’s official name. BRICS is an economic collective that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
Putin’s words come as Russia and Ukraine have stopped targeting each other’s energy infrastructure, but other attacks have continued leaving the peace negotiations shaky. Last week a partial ceasefire was agreed to last week by Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
China and North Korea have played considerably different roles with Russia when it comes to Putin's war efforts. China has tried to walk a diplomatic tightrope since the onset of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Putin also suggested that Zelenskyy could be replaced with someone approved by the collective nations. Putin has called the Ukrainian president illegitimate due to his canceling of elections and ruling under martial law.
"In principle, of course, a temporary administration could be introduced in Ukraine under the auspices of the U.N., the United States, European countries ,and our partners. This would be in order to hold democratic elections and bring to power a capable government enjoying the trust of the people and then to start talks with them about a peace treaty,” Putin said.
The list of grants that could be cut includes a $1.9 billion program to help high-risk urban areas prevent and prepare for terrorist attacks, a $760 million program that helps states and tribes prevent terrorism, and a $480 million program that helps states and tribes with emergency preparedness.
The document Noem signed flagged those grants as "red," according to The Hill.
FEMA has frozen nearly $10 billion in disaster aid for nonprofits including hospitals as it seeks to identify funding that could be used to help illegal immigrants, according to agency documents obtained by E&E News. The blocked money had been approved for nongovernmental organizations to rebuild their own facilities after a disaster and to provide services such as short-term housing to survivors.
The document signed by Noem also contains a list of "yellow" programs that could later receive the same treatment. These programs include services for major disaster survivors, funds to repair buildings damaged by a major disaster, and security programs for nonprofit organizations — including houses of worship. Approval of their payments will be subject to a weekly review by DHS. Among programs set for termination include those that provide emergency food and shelter to migrants.
The document came in response to two executive orders by President Donald Trump, including one that seeks to prevent federal funds being used to benefit illegal immigrants, according to The Hill. It also came after the Trump administration suggested putting conditions on disaster aid to California following January's wildfires.
Cox said while he agrees with the intent of the law, he is concerned that it may go too far. But he opted not to veto it, as it would have been overruled by the GOP-controlled Legislature. Cox signed 78 bills into law, issued four vetoes and two line-item vetoes, and allowed three bills to go into effect without his signature, including the Flag Display Amendments bill.
"To our LGBTQ community, I know that recent legislation has been difficult," Cox said. "Politics can be a bit of a blood sport at times, and I know we've had our disagreements. I want you to know that I love and appreciate you and I am grateful that you are part of our state. I know these words may ring hollow to many of you, but please know that I mean them sincerely."
During the pandemic, Cuomo and de Blasio fought over school closures and citywide shutdown plans, and state officials withheld daily data from their city officials, Politico reported.
Cuomo's office threatened to arrest City Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi over an interpretation of which first responders were eligible for early vaccines, Politico reported. A Cuomo spokesperson refuted the account to Politico.
"New Yorkers know it was Gov. Cuomo who led the way on COVID response and this is nothing more than silly, revisionist history from a bunch of de Blasio ex-pats obsessed with distracting from the fact that he was a terrible mayor," Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi said to Politico. "This took place at a time when the federal government botched the vaccine supply chain and we were moving heaven and earth to get as many shots in as many arms as possible."
Vaccine sites that de Blasio could not control or take credit for were prioritized by state officials, Politico said.
“For too long, Washington bureaucrats have imposed a uniform approach to education, stifling innovation and limiting parental choice,” Paul said in a news release. “It’s time to empower families and local leaders to make the best decisions for their students, rather than relying on out-of-touch federal regulators.”
Although Trump’s executive order stated that “closing the Department of Education would provide children and their families the opportunity to escape a system that is failing them,” only Congress, which created the agency in 1979 under President Jimmy Carter, can terminate it.
Trump has directed Education Secretary Linda McMahon to dismantle the department and “put yourself out of a job,” with her stated goal of sending “education back to the states and empower all parents to choose an excellent education for their children.”
“There is no constitutional role for the federal government in education, and returning power to the states will empower parents, cut red tape, and give our students the opportunity to receive the best possible education,” Moreno said in the release. “After over four decades of Republicans promising to abolish the Department of Education, President Trump and Senate Republicans are finally delivering. This was a key part of what I campaigned on, and I’m proud to join Senator Paul and my colleagues on this long-overdue legislation.”
Former Republican congressional lawmakers Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney served on the House select Jan. 6 committee, while Jake Sullivan and Blinken were among the most senior officials in Biden's administration.
“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information,” Trump wrote in the memorandum sent to all executive departments and agency heads before naming all of the individuals affected
Trump has aggressively used his presidential power to commute sentences and issue pardons for people who he believes were treated unfairly by the justice system. The president himself was convicted last year in a case involving hush money payments, part of what he has described as a politically motivated witch hunt against him.
Watson's commutation was among a string of other acts of clemency revealed by the White House on Friday. They included Trevor Milton, the founder of electric vehicle company Nikola, who had been sentenced to four years for fraudulently exaggerating the potential of his technology and was pardoned; and three entrepreneurs who founded and helped run the cryptocurrency exchange BITMEX, which was ordered to pay a $100 million fine earlier this year after prosecutors said it “willfully flouted U.S. anti-money laundering laws to boost revenue.” They had been sentenced to probation and were also pardoned.
After Watson's sentencing, then-Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said the jury had determined that “Watson was a con man who told lie upon lie upon lie to deceive investors into buying stock in his company.”
Ozy Media “collapsed under the weight of Watson’s dishonest schemes,” Peace said.
But Watson, who is Black, called the case “a modern lynching" and argued that he was the victim of “selective prosecution."
“I made mistakes. I’m very, very sorry that people are hurt, myself included,” Watson said, but “I don’t think it’s fair.”
U.S. District Judge Eric Komitee said during sentencing that the “quantum of dishonesty in this case is exceptional.”
Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., who served as ambassador to Japan during the first Trump administration, is another name that has been mentioned, though Republicans have only a three-seat majority in the upper chamber.
Richard Grenell, Trump's envoy for special missions, told Newsmax Thursday he is a "hard no" on being the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
"That's not something I want to do," Grenell said on "Greg Kelly Reports." "I've got plenty to do. President Trump has me doing different things. It's not someplace that I want to go to."
Morgan Ortatus, a former State Department spokesperson who works on Middle East issues, is said to also not be interested, Politico reported.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested that the U.S. should in some form control the territory.
"We need Greenland, very importantly, for international security," Trump told reporters Friday at the White House. "We have to have Greenland. It's not a question of do you think we can do without it. We can't.
"Greenland is very important for the peace of the world, not us, the peace of the entire world, and I think Denmark understands it. I think the European Union understands it. And if they don't, we're going to have to explain it to them."
Vance visited with second lady Usha Vance, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. They reportedly dined with the troops and received briefings from military officials.
Denmark Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen reacted to the vice president’s speech by saying he takes the criticism seriously, according to the Berlingske newspaper in Copenhagen, adding "I also think it's a bit inappropriate, and maybe you should look at yourself in the mirror too."
Rasmussen said if the U.S. wants to do more in the Arctic, Denmark and Greenland would be happy to assist, and that Denmark realizes "we must do more."
The vice president told reporters there are no plans to expand the U.S. military presence on the continent beyond Pituffik Space Base.
Earlier this month, the Trump administration canceled grants and contracts totaling $400 million to Columbia due to "inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students."
Armstrong was named interim president in August after Columbia President Nemat Shafik, who had been widely criticized for her handling of campus protests and accusations of antisemitism, resigned.
The Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional eating patterns of people living in the countries, such as Greece, Italy and Spain, that border the Mediterranean Sea. In general, the diet emphasizes plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, healthy fats like olive oil, and moderate amounts of fish and poultry, while limiting red meats and processed foods.
“Foods that you can eat off a tree or grow in the ground,” Crandall tells Newsmax’s “Newsline.”
“It's a diet that is proven to give you long life and it focuses a lot on olive oil, which has beneficial properties for long-term health,” adds Crandall.
Research has linked olive oil to a variety of health benefits. One study of more than 92,000 men and women, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, found that those who consumed the most olive oil ─ a little more than half a tablespoon a day ─ had a 19% lower risk of death from any cause over the 28-year study period compared to those who never or rarely used olive oil. In addition, consuming more olive oil was linked to lower risk of death from heart disease, cancer and neurodegenerative disease, such as Alzheimer’s disease.
The beneficial effects of olive oil come from its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, according to Crandall. Inflammation in the body is a main cause of cancer and heart disease. In addition, olive oil has been found to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol, which contributes to the development of heart disease.
So, people who eat a Mediterranean diet that includes olive oil live longer, have less heart disease, have less mental illness, and have less cancer throughout their life, says Crandall, editor of the popular newsletter Dr. Crandall's Heart Health Report.
Carter gave the officials until May to address issues raised before he rules whether to appoint a receivership.
"Folks, you've got to solve this, or else the court is going to step in," Carter said. "I am your worst nightmare. I can make your lives miserable."
"You can't impeach a judge just because you disagree with their opinion," Grassley said in an interview Thursday.
Last week, Rep. Brandon Gill introduced impeachment articles against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg after he ordered flights deporting more than 250 illegal immigrants believed to be members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua halted and returned to the U.S.
Gill said judges ruling against Trump and his agenda are a threat to democracy. Trump has also called for Boasberg's impeachment.
Grassley said legislation that would restrict district-level federal judges from issuing nationwide injunctions is in the works. A hearing is set for April 2 to discuss "legislative solutions to the bipartisan problem of universal injunctions."
In early 2024, CSBC began developing a military-grade USV as part of a $24 billion project led by Taiwan’s National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) to create drone boats, with plans for mass production by 2026. Taiwan’s defense ministry has set specific requirements for the USVs, including a length of 10 meters, a full-load displacement under 4 tonnes, and a remote control range of around 43 miles.
Local media reports suggest that the institute’s USV features autonomous navigation and a stealth-optimized hull for surprise attacks. Once designated, it autonomously targets and strikes enemy warships. NCSIST aims to complete combat evaluations by the end of the year, with mass production set for next year. Reports also indicate that the army plans to acquire more than 200 units.

Part 1/6:
Summary of Recent NBA Discussions: Knicks' Performance and Prospects
In the recent discussions regarding the New York Knicks, several key performances and potential matchups have been analyzed, particularly focusing on the contributions of certain players and the team's chances in the upcoming playoffs.
Tyler's Insights on Key Players
Part 2/6:
Emphasizing the significance of veteran presence on the court, the contributions of De'Lon Wright have been highlighted as a pivotal factor in the Knicks' strategy. Wright’s defensive capabilities provided a foundation for the team, especially considering the inexperience of rookie, Kolak. His performance against the Milwaukee Bucks was notable; not only did he score ten points in the first quarter, but he also forced turnovers that benefitted the Knicks with scoring opportunities.
Triumphs in Offense
Part 3/6:
Another player drawing attention is Tyler Cole, who received encouragement to be more aggressive in his offensive attempts. Previously more focused on playmaking, Cole improved his shot selection drastically against Milwaukee, going 2 for 4 while still facilitating five assists. His ability to adapt and respond positively to coaching underscores Tom Thibodeau's successful decision to start Wright.
Rising Stars: Anunoby and Bridges
Part 4/6:
Moreover, the performances of OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges remain crucial for the team's success, especially in the absence of star player Jalen Brunson. Both players have stepped up considerably, averaging over 20 points per game during this stretch. Their offensive skills are complemented by solid defensive foundations, which are critical for maintaining competitiveness. Anunoby’s increased effectiveness in shooting and Bridges' aggressiveness in driving to the basket have been particularly beneficial for the Knicks.
The Playoff Picture: Knicks vs. Bucks
Part 5/6:
The Knicks have managed to win their season series against the Milwaukee Bucks, a team they may face in the playoff rounds. A major factor in determining the feasibility of this matchup is the health of the Bucks' star, Damian Lillard, who is out indefinitely due to a blood clot in his calf. The severity of Lillard's condition raises questions about the Bucks’ capability to compete effectively if he is unable to return.
Injury Considerations
The Knicks are also grappling with injury challenges, particularly concerning Brunson, who is dealing with an ankle issue. However, there is optimism that Brunson will return before the end of the regular season, allowing him to regain form in time for the playoffs.
Conclusion
Part 6/6:
As the Knicks prepare for the remainder of the season and possible playoff matchups, the versatility and adaptability shown by their roster, especially with the heightened performances of Wright, Cole, Anunoby, and Bridges, will be vital. The uncertainties surrounding both teams' injuries will continue to complicate projections, but as the Knicks forge ahead, they do so with a blend of hope and determination for success in the playoffs.
A producer for “Snow White” recently reprimanded the film’s star, Rachel Zegler, for mixing the film’s promotion with leftist activism. Her decision to trash the original “Snow White” film and focus on politics over publicity will likely cost Disney millions of dollars. But doesn’t she have the right to speak freely? Glenn explains why this is yet another example of a narcissistic generation that believes their careers should be handed to them. It’s not about free speech when she’s being paid millions to promote Disney’s movie. Glenn also reads the fiery comments of the producer’s son, who summarized the whole situation perfectly.
New York Giants rumors are getting huge with the latest reports from NFL insiders on Jaxson Dart. Giants Draft rumors suggest they have a strong interest in Dart. NFL insider Ian Rapoport said, “Jaxson Dart has spent extensive time with the Browns, with the Giants and some others.” Mike Florio has also stated the Giants will not be looking for a QB at the third pick. Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston are not the future of the Giants undercenter. Both quarterbacks could be a bridge to 2026. NY Giants Now host Marshall Green gives his opinions on passing on a quarterback at the third pick in today’s New York Giants YouTube video.
How is Pectra going to affect Ethereum?
Pectra is combining two big updates similar to the Dencun upgrade. The first one is Prague (execution layer or EL) and Electra (consensus layer or CL). Hence, it gives many new Ethereum Improvement Proposals or EIP. EIP is the formal process by which changes are proposed, discussed, and implemented on the Ethereum blockchain.
The system can strengthen drone defenses. The company underlined that the small and expendable, Coyote C-UAS kinetic and non-kinetic variants are reportedly able to defeat small to large target unmanned aircraft systems at longer ranges and higher altitudes than similar class effectors.
Coyote C-UAS scan defeats single drone threats as well as swarms, supported by reduced engagement timelines to defeat multiple targets, according to Raytheon.
Sophisticated launched effects designed to support US and allied forces
Raytheon, which has developed new technologies and enhanced existing capabilities in integrated air and missile defense and smart weapons, also revealed that its Coyote LE variants are sophisticated launched effects designed to support U.S. and allied forces. They provide warfighters with the operational versatility and precision required to detect, identify, and defeat threats from multiple platforms.

Part 1/7:
Elon Musk's Bold Move: XAI Acquires X
Elon Musk has made headlines once again with the announcement that XAI, his artificial intelligence company, has acquired X in an all-stock transaction. This bold move values XAI at an impressive $80 billion while placing X, formerly known as Twitter, at $33 billion—a difference of $45 billion minus $12 billion in debt.
The Announcement
Part 2/7:
Musk made the announcement via a post on X, emphasizing the potential of this merger. He stated, "X is the digital town square where more than 600 million active users go to find the real-time sources of ground truth." He highlighted that XAI has transformed its operations significantly in the past two years, efficiently building AI models and data centers on an unprecedented scale. Musk's confidence in the accuracy of his claims is backed by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, who remarked that no other company could have matched the speed and scale of Tesla's AI supercluster deployment.
A Winning Combination
Part 3/7:
The merger is positioned to blend the technical prowess of XAI with the vast user base of X. Musk argues that this combination will not only enhance the user experience but also foster a platform that aims to advance human progress. He remarked, “This combination will unlock immense potential by blending XAI's advanced AI capabilities with X's massive reach.”
Musk’s description of XAI as one of the leading AI labs in the world is not without merit. In just two years since its inception, XAI has rapidly progressed in terms of technology, developing cutting-edge models and data systems that were previously thought to be unattainable.
Implications for Tesla and AGI
Part 4/7:
A central point of discussion surrounding this acquisition is the symbiotic relationship between Tesla's real-world data stream, X's language data, and XAI's technological capabilities. Musk and commentators believe that the merging of these assets presents an enormous opportunity to move toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—a frontier that has yet to be fully navigated by any other company.
As mentioned by an X user in August 2023, the blend of Tesla's real-world data, which draws from over seven million vehicles, with X's real-time language and media stream, puts these companies at a unique advantage in the race toward AGI.
Strategic Financial Position
Part 5/7:
For Musk's investors, this transaction presents a sigh of relief. The acquisition may alleviate concerns regarding the need for Musk to sell more Tesla shares to fund either X or XAI. Instead, the acquisition could be seen as a strategic move to enhance the financial health of both entities while solidifying their place in the evolving tech landscape.
Reactions and Predictions
Part 6/7:
Industry reactions to this news have ranged from surprise to intrigue. Analysts suggest that this acquisition is a significant step in Musk's long-term strategy to make X less dependent on advertising revenue, which has plummeted dramatically since he acquired the platform. Max Chaffkin from Bloomberg speculated that while X might maintain its current form post-acquisition, it is likely that there will be deeper integration of AI capabilities moving forward.
Conclusion: The Beginning of a New Era
Part 7/7:
In his announcement, Elon Musk stated, “This is just the beginning,” which resonates with followers who are keenly aware of Musk's history in pioneering transformative ventures. The merger of XAI and X marks a significant shift in both companies’ trajectories, and while many details remain to be fleshed out, the strategic importance of this acquisition cannot be understated.
As the tech world watches closely, the implications of this merger will unfold over time, potentially redefined by the combined forces of AI technology and social media engagement. For now, stakeholders and the public remain curious about how this new entity will impact the future of technology and human interaction.
Elon Musk says xAI has acquired X in deal that values social media site at $33 billion
In a social media post on Friday, Elon Musk said his startup xAI has acquired his social media company X.
Elon Musk said on Friday that his startup xAI has merged with X, his social network, in an all-stock transaction that values the artificial intelligence company at $80 billion and the social media company at $33 billion.
"xAI and X's futures are intertwined," Musk, the world's richest person, wrote in a post on X. "Today, we officially take the step to combine the data, models, compute, distribution and talent."
He added that the merger would, "unlock immense potential by blending xAI's advanced AI capability and expertise with X's massive reach." The purchase price, he said, was $45 billion less $12 billion in debt.
Because both companies are privately held and controlled by Musk, the transaction likely amounts to a stock swap, with X investors getting paid out in xAI shares. The companies have a number of mutual investors, including venture firms Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital, as well as Fidelity Management, Vy Capital and Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding Co.
Musk, who's also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, acquired Twitter in a deal valued at around $44 billion in late 2022, implementing massive cost cuts and soon renaming it X. Linda Yaccarino, who Musk hired as CEO of X, wrote in a post after Friday's announcement, "The future could not be brighter."
Amazon MGM Studios boss Jen Salke to step down. Read the internal memo
Amazon hired Salke in 2018 to oversee its movie and television unit. The company became a bigger player in the entertainment industry under her leadership.
Jen Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios is stepping down from her role, the company confirmed.
Mike Hopkins, Amazon's head of Prime Video and MGM Studios, made the announcement in a Thursday memo to employees. Salke is exiting Amazon to move into film production, and her previous position will not be replaced, Hopkins said.
"We've decided to flatten our leadership structure a bit and not fill the head of studios role," Hopkins wrote. "In line with Amazon's recent work to streamline reporting lines and accelerate decision making, we felt this was the best direction for our studio, which will now operate as distinct film and television studios."
As part of her exit, Salke signed a first-look film and TV producing deal with Amazon, Hopkins wrote.
"As I've been considering my next chapter, I've always been searching for that moment where I was positive that our work had set up Amazon MGM Studios for even more success in the long term," Salke said in a statement provided by Amazon. "When I look at the teams we've put in place, our amazing leaders, and the incredible slate of films and shows we've got in the pipeline, I realized now is that moment."
Amazon tapped Salke in 2018 to head up the Studios business after the ouster of her predecessor Roy Price, who resigned amid allegations that he engaged in sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior toward a producer.
New npm attack poisons local packages with backdoors
Researchers at Reversing Labs identified two malicious packages on npm targeting the ‘ethers' package: ‘ethers-provider2' and ‘ethers-providerz.' These packages stand out because they download a secondary malware stage that monitors the legitimate ‘ethers' package, then swaps its ‘provider-jsonrpc.js' with a trojanized version. This trojanized file downloads a third-stage malware that creates a reverse shell to a malicious IP address. Reversing Labs emphasizes the severity of this issue, as removing the malicious package does not eliminate the risk since the trojanized legitimate package can still harbor the malware.

Intel announces three board members will retire following CEO shake-up
The changes to the board come after Intel named Lip-Bu Tan as its new CEO earlier this month.
Three members of Intel's board of directors will not stand for reelection in May, the company said in a filing on Thursday.
Omar Ishrak, former CEO of Medtronic; Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, a doctor and philanthropist; and Tsu-Jae King Liu, the dean of the college of engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, will retire from the board at Intel's annual meeting in May.
Intel has nominated 11 directors, who all currently serve on the board, including new CEO Lip-Bu Tan.
The shake-up comes after Intel named Tan to lead the struggling chipmaker earlier this month, replacing Pat Gelsinger, who left the company in December. Intel shares are down nearly 49% over the past year, driven by concerns about the company's spending on new chip factories and its minuscule market share in chips for artificial intelligence.
Tan will speak publicly next week at the company's Intel Vision event in Las Vegas. He is expected to address a ballroom of enterprise technology executives about the future of Intel. The talk is titled "A New Intel."
Intel is committed to having the right mix of "skills, qualifications, and technical expertise" on its board of directors, board chair Frank Yeary wrote in a letter to shareholders.
New Atlantis AIO platform automates credential stuffing on 140 services
Researchers from Abnormal Security have discovered a new Credential Stuffing as a Service (CSaaS) called Atlantis AIO. Elon Musk must face Twitter shareholders’ lawsuit over alleged securities fraud
A proposed class-action lawsuit against Elon Musk and his family office Excession can proceed in federal court, a judge ruled Friday.
A proposed class-action lawsuit against Elon Musk and his family office Excession can proceed in federal court, a judge ruled Friday, after the tech centi-billionaire sought to have the case dismissed.
The case is Rasella v. Musk (Case No. 1:22-cv-03026-ALC-GWG) in the Southern District of New York.
The lawsuit was brought by former Twitter shareholders who allege they lost money when the Tesla and SpaceX CEO was amassing a stake in the social network, but failed to disclose his purchases within a legally-mandated time frame.
The Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System and other plaintiffs in the suit complained that they had sold shares of then publicly-traded Twitter at "artificially deflated prices," while Musk obscured his own interest and stake in the company.
Elon Musk and Jared Birchall did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Musk's attorneys have argued that while his disclosure was filed after an SEC-mandated deadline, this was merely an error and that the tech magnate did not commit nor intend securities fraud.
In his opinion, Judge Andrew L. Carter in the Southern District of New York wrote that the court agreed with plaintiffs that Musk's failure to disclose he was snapping up shares of Twitter sent a "false pricing signal to the market."

How do you see artificial intelligence changing our daily lives in the next five years?
#ai #technology
Automation will be the norm. We have to consider the ramifications of that.
The ramifications will be that people will need to learn some different skills, or to lean into it and learn how to design and maintain the automation. That's my goal at least. Use the AI as a tool. And yes, there will be some people resistant to that change that will make themselves obsolete and then scream and cry and blame the bots.
I just don't want to talk to nothing but bots online, lol. I would like some real human interaction, lol. But that's also why I have a group of friends that I go and fly little robots with, lol.
