Leo As A Reference Center

One of my views is that we need to do things to make Leo a reference center. This is something that can be multifaceted.

Over the last couple months, we covered a few topics that people can do which can add to the value of Leo. When it comes to people returning, being a reference center is vital.

Database

This is something we discussed in detail so will not go deeply into it.

I started LeoGlossary a little over a year ago with the intention of making Leo a destination for this kind of information. Each day, the database is expanding, with more being added.

The goal is that, over the next couple years, we will have a robust database of information relating to banks, money, economics, and cryptocurrency.

What is most interesting is that anyone can duplicate this idea. Simply set up a database on your favorite topic. This can be anything that is close to your heart.

Playlists

Take a look at this screenshot.

We now have a playlist where the main thread had over 2,100 pageviews. When we add in the songs underneath, this has over 5,000 pageviews in total.

This is a drop in the bucket. It does, however, show the potential of this concept. With the addition of search, we might see this concept expand.

The project was enhanced by the setting up of a community called #musicplaylists.

Simply post the top line thread in the community, which has its own threads, and then add the songs.

I envision a day when there will be over 20,000 YouTube songs that are on threads. This could be a major music center for people to listen to their favorite tunes.

Fact And Information

Here is another idea that I started playing with. It utilizes the threadstorm idea. What if we add facts and information to it?

Here is one that I added for the 50 U.S. state capitals.

It is a simple concept for search engines. This might not have much impact since the layout of Leo is poor. The fact the URL has some extra characters in it is not favored by the search engines.

Nevertheless, this might be altered in the future. If not, one of the reasons for posting the question is that can be heavily searched.

This is carrying the idea of information residing on the database that is being created here. As more is posted, especially in a threadstorm, we might be able to get some clicks going.

We do have on other use case for this.

Linking To Leo Pages

With the search feature, we are going to be able to find information. This is what we are told anyway.

That means that we can use this information as the reference in our articles.

For example, if I state that Montgomery is the capital of Alabama, I could link to this threadstorm. It contains the information that is being referenced.

Here is another way that we can generate more internal links.

Whether externally or internally, we can make Leo more of a reference center. The only thing we need to do is keep building and get the data into it.
