▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This is in response to an interview Elon Musk did with Lex Fridman where he mentioned Tesla could hit $100B in revenues this eyar.

In this video I discuss what that would mean in the second half (almost $54B) and some factors which could lead to that increase.

That is interesting. It is already August, and they are just half of the number he hit. That means they are looking at a lot of incoming sales/revenue. I'm guessing there are a lot of contracts being finalized. In your older posts, you mentioned about the Megapack sales. I wonder if they will squeeze some of its income to be included for this year.

I wonder if they will squeeze some of its income to be included for this year.

There is a lot of deferred revenue as per the contracts that will be fed in. I am going from memory but I think it is over $3B they expect to recognize over the next 12 months. I have no idea how much of that is anticipated in the next 6.

But that will help a bit.

I see, then it makes the number given more doable. Hope they achieve it.

I would presume there is an ongoing meeting of the terms of the contracts so when they place an expectation, it is probably on a reasonable rate of achieving that. Hence, some of that will flow in.

The problem with the megapacks is:

A) I dont know the exact terms of the contract ie what parameters have to be met and by when
B) A lot of it deals with connecting to the grid which entails local government approval which can vary depending upon where it is.

I see, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining.
