Bee Sad

Over the last months I have been buying HIVE here and there, using the Earn mechanism on Binance. However, my last couple purchases were true par for the course, as not only did I buy too early to the tune of 20% up on current price, a day later the Earn APR dropped down to a fraction of what it was. It had done it before and then returned back after a week, but now two weeks later, it is still only around 2%.

I gave it until powerup day.

And here we are.

Now, this powerup is temporary, as I am planning on trading this in some distant future where HIVE is trading somewhere higher than where I bought it. But in the meantime, It is good to have some voting power. In fact, this is the most voting power I have ever had.

But my KE ratio is pretty good for the moment.

image.png

Still not a whale.

But I have a little bit owing too me, so hopefully one day I will get repaid and over time earn more and perhaps, just perhaps - squeeze into whaledom for at least a short period of time. Just to say that

"once upon a time...."

But I don't know what the future holds for Hive, or me in my personal life. Each day I am trying to make decisions that will be of benefit to my family, but I rarely make the right decisions. At least, not at the right time. Perhaps it just feels like that, but maybe I am just not very good at making good choices in life. But, at least they are my choices. Too many people just leave the decisions up to others, because they aren't willing to pull the trigger on life themselves.

At least they have someone to blame.

I only have myself.

The employment situation in Finland is shit, but maybe if the political landscape stops being so retarded, things might get better toward the end. But I do not have faith in any of that, not even hope. Global politics is a sham, but unfortunately it still holds sway over the economy, and everyone who is a part of it.

I am tired of my wife being stressed.

I don't see it getting easier soon.

But at least, we aren't starving yet, and there is still some chances that things will get better in the future. Unfortunately, there is more chance things will get worse. It just seems to be the current global trend, but that is a topic for another day. For now,

I am happy to have some more HIVE POWER at my disposal.

Powering up in tough times shows real conviction wishing you strength, better days, and a future where Hive and life both rise.

The start of the season is late. Maybe end of the year will be the start this time.

Sorry to hear about the ship sailing away from you on binance earn.

I am tired of my wife being stressed.

Happy wife, happy life, and all that. Currently, my wife i the breadwinner while I'm seeking new employment post-retrenchment. I don't mind that I was retrenched. It was time to move on, anyway.

I have the luxury of time to choose, and until then, I'm gonna be on HIVE almost every waking hour, looking for something to do, or in my word processor, typing something. My goal is to get back up to 5K HP by the end of the year.

I'll do my best to earn it. A modest 7 hive per day. I think my peak was somewhere around 30k hive power a few years back. Powered down to buy camera lenses.

Yeah, I had the same issue with my employed work. Still doing my business a bit, but it is hard out there for a player.

Regardless of the potential earnings, the act of writing ad engaging has a lot of value in a largely disconnected social conversation now.

Still photographing?

I've got a piece in the local gallery at the moment. I am holding off on booking any new photographic work at the moment, as the car needs to go in for repairs at the end of the month (minor crash a few weeks back) - so I'm chasing my child hood dream of writing.

I never knew I wanted to write a science fiction anthology of stories, but here I find myself. Published the first one already, researching the underlying themes / ideas of the others to flesh out the detail currently.

I'm lucky that I have the freedom to do this, as being a house husband and a writer is proving to be very good for my mental health. That, and regularly going to the gym.

200k power up! Dang... even if temporary that is really good!

I need to get more serious about my powering up. Will have to talk my wife into it...

LOL, you are right. We just got another goal, I am sure it will not work out so I might have a chance to convince her then.

It feels like you're walking a tightrope all the time... here or there, it's more or less the same. In my case, I work, but my husband is the one who supports the house but he doesn't have a legal job... a strange economic distortion that's suffocating my country makes these things happen... working for the left is more meaningful than being a government employee.

On the other hand, it feels great to see how your HP grows... igniting it is inspiring, and I know I have to be more consistent to achieve it faster.

Congratulations on those 200,000 HP!!!

Unfortunately Finland is a very expensive country to live in if one does not have a good job or capital. In my country and yours a person could live well with only 400k HP on Hive.

Yep. This is the issue. Here, it is very little, and can't be lived on. It could only be used to slow the bleed a bit.

I think the suffocating is happening everywhere, just at different degrees and speeds. The economic distortion is driven by the political distortion. There should be a decoupling.

Hopefully things get easier for you too!

You know how to surprise! You will achieve your goal and this is an example for many.

Once upon a time, I was a whale, too, in 2018, on a fork of this blockchain. We had only 30 whales then. I didn't give up when the price of the GOLOS token fell from 3,000 satoshi to 20 satoshi, I traded and bought more tokens all the time. In the end, there was a pump and I got my BTC back and earned twice as much as I invested. I wish you good luck and that your wife gets rid of stress for a long time.

Is Golos still round? Haven't heard anything about it for years, but never really paid attention.

After the token was removed from Bittrex, the team abandoned golos.io. But the community forked it and Golos is alive at https://golos.id
But there were very few people left there.

But in the meantime, It is good to have some voting power.

I have not put any money in Hive slot games for a while. But I still sometimes check to see if I have free spins in some new slot game. So recently I managed to power up 350(?) HP just from those free spins. Not as much as I had spent gambling in the past but still nice.

Free Give is good. Losing at gambling well, that is nonsense. There are better things to spend your time on!

That's correct. Nothing for sure comes with guarantee, we do take risks on our own behalf with a hope that what if it works and so something it leads to disappointment and sometimes it goes good but prediction is really unstable it may change the next minute and especially in crypto market, it's the main concept you don't know what you ignored may rise and what you valued may fall, especially when you're trying to protect your family in this unpredictable society because that's genuine everybody on hive is due a certain hope and a feeling in their mind to fulfill some of their important things but you're correct it's always like waiting for the right time and it genuinely keeps on delaying and delaying.....

The Binance Earn program is about lending to short-sellers.

Short-sellers borrow a coin, sell it, buy it back at a lower price, then repay the coins with interest.

Of course when the price is low shorting vanishes and the interest paid drops.

The impetus for Hive's price dropping is whales flocking to Binance to lend to short sellers.

Do what the BitcoinCash community is doing - withdraw coins from the exchanges to make short-selling difficult.

The return was insane on it. Between 30 and 50% a lot of the time. It is always good to have some more hive though :)

I have read in someone else's post that he sent HIVE in the Binance wallet and then EARN. He said that he earned more than pur APR. In fact, I am not as much hopeful as before about the future of HIVE. It is not where it should be for a long time.

What a huge power up! Up up with your curation rewards 💪
I think that IS a good decision. Although only time will tell...

It is with the best intentions I assume. And I agree that it is always better to make the decisions yourself. They can be good decisions or you will learn from them.
The latter might not feel good at when they occur, but you can benefit from them in the long run.

Some people spend all of their time blaming others for their life. I don't see the point of that. Costs of mistakes are usually cheaper than the lessons learned. Though in crypto, I am not so sure.

I didn't know about the Earn thing. I just discovered Binance, as I can deposit from my Ecuadorian bank directly (well, through one hoop). I'll check it out and see how it works.

I powered up 100 Hive this month, double from last month - a little far away from 200,000, but you just watch... 😝 My KE is still at 1.66 though, which is fine for me as SPL remains my main focus.

The bakery is running better again, I think we're finally through the exhausting experimental phase and the quality has improved notably. That by itself should lead to higher sales, and now the admin and I can focus better on sales, which should boost that, too. I made a lot of investments, and my admin (who, as everyone in the bakery, has access to the numbers) told me to calm down a little.

I wish you a similar kind of turn-around. I hope that taking responsibility for your decisions will eventually lead to the outcome it deserves.

P.S.: Have you read Camus' "The Fall"? There's a part at the end where Clamence talks about reponsability: "There's innocence in slavery." It's always easier to be able to be a slave and point the finger at the master. In concept.

Each day I am trying to make decisions that will be of benefit to my family, but I rarely make the right decisions. At least, not at the right time.

I feel this every time my partner asks me what she should be doing to protect her savings. "Buy Bitcoin," I say of course. But the timing is never exactly right. It is hard to always be at the right time. I've been lucky a few times, but it is not the norm.

Time to take emotion and guessing out of the game. The time to DCA has arrived, no matter the price. Buying at 14K, 33K, 60K, 82K, 108K... no more guessing.

I guess HPUD works the same way in a sense. It is a DCA into Hive like you did for 200K (or is it just 200, I'm always confused about the difference of , and . for numbers outside USA)! I trim some SPS from my tournament prizes (so I don't have to unstake this liquid SPS) and use it to swap for Hive to power up.

Since the start of the year, I have also been unstaking ALL earned SPS from my two automated alt accounts and funneling that into swap.btc! It's not much since there isn't that much on these accounts (or delegated staked SPS), but it is my little way of DCAing in BTC in a simple way once per week when the SPS unstake is paid out.
