East Asians who have travelled to Bangladesh say there are no protected areas in Dhaka or Chittagong.

It is true indeed, as a huge population and corrupted systems are the culprits behind such a situation.

There are very few such natural forests area in Gazipur, Tangail, Rajshahi, Bogura, and Dhaka in some parks.

Most of the forest of Bangladesh is in hill tracts of Chittagong divisions, including Bandarban, Khagrachari, and Rangamati; in Sylhet, there are also many natural forest areas and smaller mountains; and the largest mangrove forest of the world in the South-West of Bangladesh is the Sundarba,n which is located among three districts of Bangladesh, including Satkhira, Khulna, and Bagerhat.

But most tourists don't visit that area, so you don't know about them.
