Mountain Teaching For Our Life
Greetings my dear Hive fellows.
In most of my outdoor activities, I love to ride my bicycle in the mountain forest area, hike to the mountains in several parks around my living area, and spend time by the lakeside or riverside natural scenic area. Spending time in the natural scenic area is my favorite thing to do to spend as much time as possible. I love the beauty, strength, and mystery of nature deeply. The tall trees and green plants, sparkling rivers, calm lakes, and endless green scenery have become my sources of peace and inspiration in my busy work life. If you have been reading my blogs for years, you have probably seen many beautiful mountains, woods, lakes, rivers, and green places in the Huairou district of the Beijing Municipal where I am living now. When I go outside into these wild areas, I feel that there is always more to explore, feel, and learn with deeper thoughts on everything. Today I am going to talk about some thoughts about mountains according to my learning and observation. I think they are natural teachers and teach us many things with their enormous existence, and also they can teach us about being strong, being humble, and finding balance in our lives to make it more meaningful with a peaceful mind.
The first impression of the gigantic mountains is their massive shape and size. They are intimidating because they stand tall above us and show how strong and unmovable they are in practical aspects. They are so much bigger than all of us and everything surrounding us but they are silent without having any pride in their size which makes us feel to be humble at our higher status in various aspects of life. The mountains-themed poems that I have read in my childhood have given my views more depth when I really feel in practical life. A lot of writers and thinkers see mountains as symbols of patience with massive power without any pride, which makes us think that we should also be like them to make us feel better in an uplifted mental state. Mountains stand strong in the face of many natural disasters and many human actions over time that destroy them. But these mountains are enough strong to sustain all these attacks from us silently. This teaches us to be very patient in hard times. This strength makes us want to stay strong, especially when life throws us in miserable conditions.
I am always amazed by the mountains' ability to handle pressure by staying calm is one of the most important things. Mountains sustain the bad weather, natural disasters, and, sadly, damage done by people every year for different purposes. But sometimes a mountain hits back when its limit is extended and crossed, maybe with a landslide or a rockfall. This shows us that even the most stable forces need to let go of stress when the sustaining capability is crossed. Mountains show a perfect balance in this way that really attracts me with the importance of balancing everything in life. It is a gentle warning that we shouldn't carry our problems around with us forever and that we should know when to let go and act accordingly to make the situation come back to our favorable condition.
For example, deforestation and other acts by people can destroy the natural balance of mountains. When people cut down trees and mess with the land, we could cause an unbalance that can cause floods and erosion, which are both very dangerous for the people as well. This makes me think that we should be careful about what we do in life, just like we can't mess with nature and not get caught by its reaction in an adverse way. No matter what decision we make, it has an impact on the people and things around us. So, we sometimes need to set limits and take action when something goes beyond that limit.
Another thing that I have recently learned is that mountains have huge roots that are hidden below the surface, which is different from how they look on the outside. It makes us realize how stronger the mountains are with their unseen support from the ground. Even though we can only see what's on the ground, the peak is stable because of what's below. It teaches us that we need to be strong and is built into us without being seen by outsiders, and it doesn't need to be shown as pride or for any purpose. Real strength is often hidden, like the roots that hold mountains in place where you can't see the same things happen with us we merely know our strengths which must be found to be more established in life with vast support from the inner side of ourselves.
When I walk near the mountains, I feel like they are slowly teaching me and helping me understand the world and myself better. Mountains teach us to be strong, humble, and aware of the potential inside of us. They also teach us that we can't always change what's going on around us, we can pick how to react according to the changes beyond our limit. We can learn how to live with patience, strength, and a strong but quiet sense of purpose from the mountains.
So, when I walk through the scenery of Huairou, I think about these things while staring at nature for hours in a peaceful world. Mountains are not only beautiful to look at; they also teach us such kinds of teachings when we explore them deeply and think about them in our minds. They remind me to remember to stay grounded, be patient, and try to keep my life in balance. I want to learn them and make my life a beautiful one with these teachings and to make my life a balanced one from every perspective that I care about throughout my life.
