Lonely Beijing Winter

Beijing does not have the city vibes everywhere in the city, especially the discrete areas are completely different than the downtown area. Moreover, there are some areas where a person can forget that this area of the municipality is a part of such a great modern city, Beijing. I have visited many areas of the Beijing municipal area and experienced completely different vibes in different regions.

The region of the city is different with the geological varieties, population density, and infrastructural development of different regions. The most visible change is seen as the city's central areas are extremely crowded as around 30 million people live in the downtown and the district center areas, and the far areas are like completely vast areas where it is difficult to meet a single person for kilometers. Such areas can be found in the far northern areas, which can be around 150 km from the city center.

The geographical difference is also very intense, as the northern region of the municipality is full of mountains and a wild forest area. But the southern section of the municipality is almost plain lands, and the vast open space is seen as I have seen several times when I have used the Daxing International Airport, which is the most southern spot of Beijing. I have used both the special shuttle train and also a taxi by using a different route, and I have seen almost similar vast open space without mountains and green forest area.

And the northern areas are the most spectacular with so many natural scenic areas. Also, the western region is also with many mountains and full of green natural beauty. I have already visited hundreds of scenic spots in the northern region of the city which I have shared in my previous blogs. Now I am trying to share some of my experiences in the southern section of the city.

The southern section is also a little bit underdeveloped, and some industrial areas can be seen in some places, especially in the far areas of the city. Beijing is so large that most of the far areas of the Beijing municipality are open, and there is nothing in reality, and much agricultural land can be seen. So, the diversity of the city is really great in my experience.

These photos were taken from an area located in the southern part, where I found this narrow water channel, and I walked along the channel, exploring the surrounding beauty. The naked branches of the trees and the dried grasses are making the emptiness in nature. I love to explore such a place with the different season vibes, which will be completely green in the coming summer season.
