Deeper Into The Olympic Forest Park
Beijing is full of great natural beauties, and wherever you go, you will be fascinated by its eye-catching surroundings and breathtaking views, especially in the natural parks, forest parks, mountains, temples and royal gardens for the emperors. Also, there are so many historical places, the Great Wall and many valleys in the northern mountains region, which are full of dozens of natural scenic spots. Even in the city area wherever you go, you will see so many parks with natural beauty that have been a part of Chinese culture from the early history of the Chinese civilisation. For the last several years, I have been visiting a handful of them, where I enjoy the views of the wild forest land. In the city centre area, most of the forest parks are man-made forests to make Beijing a cleaner and environmentally friendly city.
And I really think that the municipal authorities are very successful in making Beijing a great city for living by uplifting its air quality to a satisfactory level. A couple of years ago, during 1019-20, I found the air quality was much more polluted during the whole winter and in summer also. But in recent years 2024-25, the air quality is so good throughout the whole year. Most of the time I find the airquality so goo in the northern region of the municipality in Huairou where I am currently living. This is a great achievement for them to make the city a healthy one and Huairou is among the most healthy city to live in whole China.
In the downtown of Beijing, one of the largest forest parks is the Olympic Forest Park. This beautiful park is located in the northern part of the city in the Chaoyang District. The park is built and named as a part of the Olympic Green for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. The whole park is surrounded by a highly developed urban area but the park make the surrounidng environment a human friendly one as it produces a record amount oxygen and decreased an amount of 3,962 metric ton of oxygen that is released by about 777 passenger vehicles. There are also some interesting data regarding these 1600+ hectares parks in this article.
The park has many water channels and different area having different types of trees to make the park a place of great exploration for the botany enthuasists also. It is separated into two many parts there are many gates to enter into the park. I have visited a vast area of the park in my three times visit to the park. Last time I have shown you the southern and eastern part of the park and today I am showing you the middle part of the Park that I have covered in the last summer season in July.
In the middle area there are more water channel that originates fromt he large lake about which I will talk in my coming post that is near the southern gate and there is a metro statetion to enter into the park. And this area is almost 2 km deeper from that gate. I found many peole roming and some people runing int he main road of the park that day. It was almost late afternoon and the sky views were really so good to explore wit the excellent greenliness of the park in the summer season.
I have found the water channels are covered with the lotus plants but still I found less amount of the lotus flower that are going to blomm soon but I miss the season as I went to bangladesh when the lotus season was in peak. And now the September has come and the fall is not so good time for lotus exploration. But last year I have enjoyd the lotus blooming season and you can find those travel story in my previous blog. In short the exploration of this amazing park was soothing and healing for me in my Beijing life.
I hope you like my photos of the beauty of the Olympic Forest Park and its amazing scerene views int he sumemr season. It was an amazing experience to explore such a fantastic place like this, with the discovery of natural beauty, to enjoy my Beijing life! Furtehrmore the favorable weather with clean air and clear sky, the views were more beautiful than in normal time. This forest park is beautiful. This is well-preserved, and it's a good thing. I love the water hyacinths in the pond. They must be very pretty when flowers bloom together.
