Dear friends,
As I mentioned earlier, the week continues to be quite busy, although today's tour was a little more relaxed compared to previous days. Sometimes, one appreciates those little breaks that slip in between hectic routines. I left home early, with my schedule set to make the usual tour of one of the Sunsol chain hotels, specifically the Sunsol Unik.
The weather, I must say, has been a bit unpredictable. At times, the sky was covered with thick clouds that threatened rain, and then suddenly, as if nature wanted to surprise us, the sun would shine brightly. Even so, none of that prevented me from appreciating my surroundings. The beauty of our island has that quality: even when the sky is not completely clear, the landscape is still wonderful.

Como antes les mencioné, la semana continúa con bastante trabajo, aunque el recorrido de hoy fue un poco más relajado en comparación con días anteriores. A veces, uno agradece esos pequeños respiros que se cuelan entre las rutinas agitadas. Salí bien temprano de casa, con la agenda marcada para realizar el recorrido habitual por uno de los hoteles de la cadena Sunsol, específicamente el Sunsol Unik.
El clima, debo decir, se ha estado comportando de manera un tanto caprichosa. En ocasiones, el cielo se cubría con nubes espesas que anunciaban lluvia, y de pronto, como si la naturaleza quisiera sorprendernos, el sol asomaba sus rayos con fuerza. Aun así, nada de eso impedía que apreciara el entorno que me rodeaba. La belleza de nuestra isla tiene esa cualidad, incluso cuando el cielo no está completamente despejado, el paisaje sigue siendo algo maravilloso.
Once at the hotel, I performed the usual check-up and everything was within the expected parameters. It is satisfying to know that things are going well, as this reflects the team's efforts. Then I waited a few more minutes for my husband to pick me up. We had planned the rest of the day the night before, and we knew exactly what we had to do next.
Una vez en el hotel, realicé el acostumbrado chequeo de medición y todo se encontraba dentro de los parámetros esperados. Es satisfactorio saber que las cosas marchan bien, pues eso refleja el esfuerzo del equipo. Luego me quedé unos minutos más esperando a que mi esposo pasara por mí. Habíamos organizado el resto del día desde la noche anterior, y sabíamos exactamente qué teníamos que hacer a continuación.
Our son was expecting a package that he couldn't pick up himself, as he was finishing his activities late today. So my husband and I drove to the Sambil shopping center to pick up the package. Since my husband was driving, I took advantage of the trip to relax and simply look at the scenery. Sometimes, letting yourself go and not being behind the wheel allows you to reconnect with those little details along the way.
Nuestro hijo esperaba una encomienda que no podía ir a buscar por sí mismo, ya que hoy terminaba tarde sus actividades. Así que nos dirigimos al zoom del centro comercial Sambil mi esposo y yo para retirar dicha encomienda. Como era mi esposo quien iba conduciendo, aproveché el trayecto para relajarme y simplemente mirar el paisaje. A veces, dejarse llevar y no estar al volante te permite reconectar con esos pequeños detalles del camino.
When I arrived at Sambil, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Zoom office empty. That was lucky, especially compared to the one at the Concorde shopping center, which is usually packed. The girl who helped me was very friendly; I just showed her my code, and they quickly handed me my package. Everything was very efficient!
Al llegar al Sambil, me sorprendió gratamente encontrar la oficina del zoom vacía. Esa fue una suerte, especialmente en comparación con la del centro comercial Concorde, que suele estar a reventar. La muchacha que me atendió fue muy amable; con solo mostrar mi código, rápidamente me entregaron el envío. ¡Todo fue muy eficiente!
With the package in our hands, we started our journey back home. But first, we made a quick stop in La Asunción. I went into the Santa Rita pharmacy to buy some medicine, and on the way out, we stopped by the “LRM Vistrot” bakery, located on Girardot Street in La Asunción, Nueva Esparta state, on Margarita Island. We went with the idea of buying guava bread, my husband's favorite, but unfortunately, they didn't have any. However, we discovered a pineapple cake that looked so fresh and smelled so good that we couldn't resist.
Con la encomienda en nuestras manos, emprendimos el regreso a casa. Pero antes hicimos una pequeña parada en La Asunción. Entré a la farmacia Santa Rita a comprar un medicamento, y al salir, pasamos por la panadería “LRM Vistrot”, ubicada en la calle Girardot en la Asunción en el estado Nueva Esparta en Isla Margarita. Íbamos con la idea de comprar pan de guayaba, el favorito de mi esposo, pero lamentablemente no había. Sin embargo, descubrimos una torta de piña que se veía tan fresca y olía tan bien, que no pudimos resistirnos.
We sat down at one of the tables, ordered a slice of pineapple cake to share, and washed it down with two ice-cold malt beers. It was a simple moment, but a very pleasant one. Those moments of pause and everyday enjoyment are hugely valuable to us.
Nos sentamos en una de las mesas, pedimos una cuñita de torta de piña para compartir y acompañamos con dos maltas bien frías. Fue un momento simple, pero muy agradable. Esos instantes de pausa y disfrute cotidiano tienen un valor enorme para nosotros.
We headed home, eager to give our son his package. He received it with a smile, and for us, that was the perfect way to end the day.

Our weather here is also unpredictable. We don't really check weather updates every day; we just make a judgement by looking at the sky. heheh... That's true, it's nice to see and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. You are very keen on making everything perfect at work. You and your husband are also a good team. The drive was exciting as you got to see the surrounding mountains. Yummy food always makes our day even better.
The truth is that we like to do the job correctly and that will open new doors to the future.
