[ENG/ESP]A Grand Challenge Day
Dear hivers and friends of #dailyblog , I hope your day is very good and fruitful. I will tell you how mine was.
Since I woke up, I had no water in the house. We called the man who supplies us with drinking water, and he told me not to move from home, that he would do everything possible to send me the water truck soon.
My husband and son went out, and I had to stay. I just made a few phone calls to tell them not to wait for me at the hotels, I told them I would come in the afternoon.
The water truck arrived at 10:30 in the morning and filled the tank. Well, it did not fill it completely because it is 12,000 liters, but with that I have enough for a while. As we are in high season, we do not know if they will put water soon, since the hotels are the beneficiaries at this time of the year; we are already going for a month without water.

Desde que me levanté, no tenía agua en la casa. Llamamos al señor que nos suministra agua potable, y me dijo que no me moviera de casa, que él haría todo lo posible por mandarme la gandola de agua pronto.
Mi esposo e hijo salieron, y yo tuve que quedarme. Solo hice unas llamadas para avisar que no me esperaran en los hoteles, les dije que iría en la tarde.
La gandola de agua llegó a las 10:30 de la mañana y llenó el tanque. Bueno, no lo llenó completamente porque es de 12 mil litros, pero con eso tengo para un tiempo. Como estamos en temporada alta, no sabemos si pondrán agua pronto, ya que los hoteles son los beneficiados en esta época; ya vamos para un mes sin agua.
We can pay $35 for 12,000 liters because everyone at home contributes, but there are people who cannot afford to pay for drinking water and have to drink well water, which is mostly brackish on the island. Others do not even have access to it because their salary is not enough, but well, this is another subject that I will not deal with today.
Nosotros podemos pagar $35 por 12 mil litros porque todos en casa aportamos, pero hay personas que no pueden pagar el agua potable y tienen que consumir agua de pozo, que en la isla la mayoría es salobre. Otros ni siquiera tienen acceso a eso porque el sueldo no da para mucho, pero bueno, este es otro tema que no abordaré hoy.
Fortunately, my tank was almost full and now I am more relaxed. I organized to go out in the afternoon for my tour.
Felizmente, mi tanque quedó casi lleno y ahora estoy más tranquila. Me organicé para salir en la tarde a dar mi recorrido.
Today I started the tour the other way around. First I went by the Sunsol in Playa El Agua, because the accounting staff leaves earlier. On the way out, I passed by a new construction that apparently will be another hotel. I arrived at 31 de Julio Avenue to continue my tour as fast as I could, because I don't like the night on the street.
Hoy el recorrido lo comencé al revés. Primero pasé por el Sunsol de Playa El Agua, porque el personal de contabilidad sale más temprano. Al salir, pasé por una construcción nueva que al parecer será otro hotel. Llegué a la avenida 31 de Julio para continuar mi recorrido lo más aprisa que podía, pues no me gusta la noche en la calle.
I could always appreciate some of the scenery without stopping for too long. I handed in my last bills for this week's chlorine measurement, stopped by the hotel where my husband works, picked him up and was more at ease since being with him, if night falls, I didn't get so anxious.
Siempre pude apreciar algo del paisaje sin detenerme mucho tiempo. Entregué mis últimas facturas de la medición de cloro de esta semana, pasé por el hotel donde trabaja mi esposo, lo recogí y me quedé más tranquila ya que estando con él, si cae la noche, no me inquietó tanto.
Already the afternoon was beginning to fall quickly, giving us a beautiful landscape with the last rays of sunlight staining the sky with orange and pink tones. Finally, we went to buy some bread that our son likes so much, he did not ask for it but we know that he will receive it with pleasure, since he is at home supporting us in the preparation of dinner.
Ya la tarde comenzaba a caer rápidamente, regalándonos un paisaje hermoso con los últimos rayos de sol tiñendo el cielo de tonos anaranjados y rosados. Por último, pasamos a comprar un pan que tanto le gusta a nuestro hijo, él no lo pidió pero sabemos que lo recibirá con mucho agrado, ya que él está en casa apoyándonos en la preparación de la cena.
Then, we left for home, arriving almost at dusk, with the sky already darkening.
Luego, nos marchamos para la casa, llegando casi al anochecer, con el cielo ya oscureciendo.
Today was a great challenge for me, because I could not stop delivering the invoices and, at the same time, I had to solve the problem of the precious liquid that we did not have at home. Despite the difficulties and stress, I managed to get organized and fulfill all my responsibilities. At the end of the day, I felt satisfied and grateful for having overcome the obstacles with the support of my family who always looked out for me.

El día de hoy fue un gran desafío para mí, porque no podía dejar de cumplir con las entregas de las facturas y, al mismo tiempo, tenía que resolver el problema del preciado líquido que no teníamos en casa. A pesar de las dificultades y el estrés, logré organizarme y cumplir con todas mis responsabilidades. Al final del día, me sentí satisfecha y agradecida por haber superado los obstáculos con el apoyo de mi familia que siempre estuvo pendiente.

Having no water is really a challenge. I remember our experience here that every Sunday we don't have a supply of water. We will have it usually at the middle of the night.
The water issue is a bit difficult and stressful, at least here in Isla Margarita, and it is even more so during the vacation season because of the tourists.
