I will tell you how my days have been going this week. Although for many it is a vacation period, for me it has been an intense week of work, full of activities and commitment. During these days I have had to organize myself more rigorously, especially because the island is in full swing due to the arrival of seasonal visitors. This has forced me to get up earlier than usual to avoid traffic chaos and arrive on time to my destinations, something that will be essential for the rest of the week.
On my daily route, as usual, I stopped by two of the Sunsol chain hotels; the Sunsol Isla Caribe and the Sunsol Unik. There I made the corresponding check-up, which this week is even more necessary than on other occasions. The Sunsol chain aims to maintain its services with the ideal quality, something that is not only a commitment, but a tradition that defines our daily work. The influx of visitors forces us to be attentive to details, and that is part of what I enjoy about this job.

Les contaré cómo han ido transcurriendo mis días esta semana. Aunque para muchos es un período de vacaciones, para mí ha sido una semana intensa de trabajo, cargada de actividades y compromiso. En estas jornadas he tenido que organizarme con más rigor, especialmente porque la isla está en pleno ajetreo debido a la llegada de los temporadistas. Esto me ha obligado a levantarme más temprano de lo habitual para evitar el caos vehicular y llegar a tiempo a mis destinos, algo que será imprescindible por el resto de la semana.
En mi recorrido diario, como de costumbre, pasé por dos de los hoteles de la cadena Sunsol; el Sunsol Isla Caribe y el Sunsol Unik. Allí realicé el chequeo que corresponde, que esta semana es aún más necesario que en otras ocasiones. La cadena Sunsol tiene como objetivo mantener sus servicios con la calidad ideal, algo que no es solo un compromiso, sino una tradición que define nuestro trabajo diario. La afluencia de visitantes nos obliga a estar atentos a los detalles, y eso es parte de lo que disfruto de este trabajo.
At the end of my tour, I thought I would take advantage of the time while my husband arrived. I decided to go to La Asuncion, specifically to a pharmacy that I know is very well stocked. There I bought two boxes of Omeprazole for my father, as I prefer to be cautious with his health. Recently, he had a little mishap; a muscle strain in his foot after a slip. Luckily, it was nothing serious, but I am always on the lookout for anything to make sure he is feeling well and has what he needs.
Al finalizar mi recorrido, pensé en aprovechar el tiempo mientras mi esposo llegaba. Decidí ir a La Asunción, específicamente a una farmacia que sé que está muy bien surtida. Allí compré dos cajas de Omeprazol para mi padre, ya que prefiero ser prevenida con su salud. Recientemente, tuvo un pequeño percance; una distensión muscular en el pie tras un resbalón. Por suerte, no fue nada grave, pero yo siempre estoy atenta a cualquier detalle para asegurarme de que se sienta bien y tenga lo necesario.
With the medicine in hand, I headed for my father's house. When I arrived, I found him at the back of the yard. Hearing my footsteps, he motioned for me to walk softly and be quiet. When I looked where his hands were pointing, I saw something wonderful; a group of guacharacas playing in the yard. These birds, wild and unusual to observe so closely, seemed completely at ease there. It was a magical moment we shared together, watching them for at least half an hour.
Con el medicamento en mano, me dirigí a la casa de mi padre. Cuando llegué, lo encontré en el fondo del patio. Al escuchar mis pasos, me hizo señas para que caminara con suavidad y guardara silencio. Cuando miré hacia donde apuntaban sus manos, vi algo maravilloso; un grupo de guacharacas jugando en el patio. Estas aves, silvestres y poco comunes de observar tan de cerca, parecían estar completamente cómodas allí. Fue un momento mágico que compartimos juntos, observándolas durante al menos media hora.
While we were in the yard, my father took the opportunity to show me how the fruits of his plants were progressing. His mango bush, just bearing fruit for the second time, is already full and promises a sweet and abundant harvest. Not to mention her lemon plants, which are so loaded with fruit that it looks like they couldn't bear another one. It's amazing to see nature flourish like this in her little corner, and I can't help but feel a deep admiration for the care she puts into each plant.
Mientras estábamos en el patio, mi padre aprovechó para mostrarme cómo iban progresando los frutos de sus plantas. Su arbusto de mango, que apenas da frutos por segunda vez, ya está lleno y prometerá una cosecha dulce y abundante. Ni hablar de sus plantas de limón, que están tan cargadas de frutos que parece que no podrían soportar ni uno más. Es increíble ver cómo la naturaleza florece de esta forma en su pequeño rincón, y no puedo evitar sentir una profunda admiración por el cuidado que le pone a cada planta.
After a pleasant time chatting and sharing, I handed the medicines to my father. Soon after, my husband arrived, ready to start our way back home. However, my father, with his well-known hospitality, did not let us leave without first offering us a cup of coffee. It is a custom he has deeply rooted and always makes us feel at home. After enjoying the coffee and saying goodbye, we headed for home. It was necessary to rest, because the next day would be another early and intense day.
This is how my day went, dear hives. A mixture of work, nature, family and small but significant experiences. I hope to share with you again more moments like this one.

Tras un rato agradable conversando y compartiendo, le entregué las medicinas a mi padre. Al poco tiempo llegó mi esposo, listo para emprender el camino de vuelta a casa. Sin embargo, mi padre, con su conocida hospitalidad, no nos dejó ir sin antes ofrecernos un café. Es una costumbre que tiene muy arraigada y que siempre nos hace sentir como en casa. Después de disfrutar del café y despedirnos, tomamos rumbo a nuestro hogar. Era necesario descansar, pues al día siguiente nos esperaría otra jornada temprana e intensa.
Así ha transcurrido mi día, queridos hives. Una mezcla de trabajo, naturaleza, familia y pequeñas pero significativas vivencias. Espero volver a compartir con ustedes más momentos como este.
