[ENG/ESP] Tour of St. Francis Square Esteban Gómez
Friends of #lifestyle , I hope you had a great start to the week. Mine is going great. Today I had to go to the town of Santa Ana for work. I was able to tour much of the municipality Gomez, where I found this beautiful square that I will show you below.
This square, named Francisco Esteban Gomez, is located in the town of Santa Ana, in the municipality of Gomez in the state of Nueva Esparta, Margarita Island, Venezuela. I had the opportunity to discover this square that left me amazed. It is an open space of great tranquility and beauty.
Amigos de #lifestyle , espero que hayan tenido un genial comienzo de semana. El mío va excelente. Hoy me tocó ir hasta la localidad de Santa Ana por cuestiones de trabajo. Pude recorrer gran parte del municipio Gómez, donde encontré esta hermosa plaza que les mostraré a continuación.
Esta plaza, tiene como nombe Francisco Esteban Gómez, se encuentra en la localidad de Santa Ana, en el municipio Gómez del estado Nueva Esparta, en Isla Margarita, Venezuela. Tuve la oportunidad de descubrir esta plaza que me dejó maravillado. Es un espacio abierto de mucha tranquilidad y belleza.
Upon entering the square, the first thing that caught my attention were the large trees that stood tall, creating an ideal environment. These trees provided refreshing shade and were of various species. Their thick trunks seemed to tell stories of times past. Walking along the well-kept paths, I felt transported to a place where time seemed to pass calmly and slowly.
Al entrar a la plaza, lo primero que llamó mi atención fueron los grandes árboles que se alzaban, creando un ambiente ideal. Estos árboles proporcionaban una sombra refrescante y eran de diversas especies. Sus troncos gruesos parecían contar historias de tiempos pasados. Caminando por los senderos bien cuidados, me sentí transportado a un lugar donde el tiempo parecía transcurrir con calma y lentitud.
On one side of the square, I found a blue shell-shaped fountain. Although it lacked water at the time, its beauty made the fountain, with its unique design, a focal point that attracted visitors of all ages.
A un costado de la plaza, encontré una fuente azul en forma de concha. Aunque carecía de agua en esos momentos, su belleza hacía que la fuente, con su diseño único, fuera un punto focal que atraía a visitantes de todas las edades.
The benches, strategically placed throughout the square, offered perfect places to rest and contemplate the natural beauty. Even the children, when exhausted from running around, would lie down to rest, enjoying the fresh air provided by the shadows of the trees. I sat in one of them, letting the peace of the place envelop me for a few minutes.
Los bancos, estratégicamente ubicados a lo largo de la plaza, ofrecían lugares perfectos para descansar y contemplar la belleza natural. Incluso los niños, cuando se agotaban de tanto correr, se acostaban a descansar, disfrutando del aire fresco que proporcionaban las sombras de los árboles. Me senté en uno de ellos, dejando que la paz del lugar me envolviera por unos pocos minutos.
One of the highlights of the square was a statue that stood proudly in the center of the square. This statue, meticulously sculpted by Marmolería Carrara of Caracas, represented General Francisco Esteban Gómez and was made in his honor. At his feet, a plaque with a few words from the General narrated his historical importance and his contribution to the municipality of Gómez.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados de la plaza era una estatua que se erigía orgullosamente en el centro de la plaza. Esta estatua, meticulosamente esculpida por la Marmolería Carrara de Caracas, representaba al General Francisco Esteban Gómez y se elaboró en su homenaje. A sus pies, una placa con unas palabras del General narraba su importancia histórica y su contribución al municipio de Gómez.
The square was not only a place of natural beauty, but also a community gathering space. During my visit, I observed several people interacting, sharing stories and laughter. There was a palpable sense of community and belonging, something that is often lost in the hustle and bustle of modern life.
La plaza no solo era un lugar de belleza natural, sino también un espacio de encuentro comunitario. Durante mi visita, observé a varias personas interactuando, compartiendo historias y risas. Había un sentido palpable de comunidad y pertenencia, algo que a menudo se pierde en el ajetreo de la vida moderna.
At the end of my visit, I felt revitalized and grateful to have discovered this special corner of Santa Ana. The square, with its majestic trees, blue shell-shaped fountain, welcoming benches and historic statue, is a testament to the value of preserving green space in our communities. It is certainly a place I hope to return to in the future.

I can't really see many people in this square, seems it's always a serene environment.
The nice thing about this park is how quiet it is, according to what a local told me, on weekends it tends to be busier .

Margarita Island was one of the most beautiful islands of the Caribbean Sea about 40 years ago, my uncle whom visited it said. Overall, just hope the beautiful Venezuela will come back to be one of the best countries of SouthAmerica as it was 30-40 years ago.
