[ENG/ESP] La Boquita, between the whisper of the sea and the lagoon.

Greetings, fellow travelers. Today I want to take you with me to discover a charming spot, a place that holds the magic of nature and the serenity of island landscapes. It is called “La Boquita,” a place that looks like a natural oasis located in the city of Porlamar, within the colorful municipality of Mariño, in the state of Nueva Esparta, our beloved Margarita Island.
It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining brightly but not too hot. After finishing our work routine, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a different kind of outing, a little adventure that would allow us to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with calm. Among the options that came up, we chose to include La Boquita, as it had been quite some time since we had visited it and we felt the desire to experience once again the tranquility and beauty that can be found there.
La Boquita is a special place; it is where the water enters and connects with the El Morro lagoon, a space that is constantly changing with the ebb and flow of the tides. This natural dynamic makes the site a living spectacle, where each visit is different and each moment offers a new perspective on the ecosystem.
We accessed La Boquita via a small, narrow, almost hidden path near Raúl Leoni Avenue. Walking along this path, one cannot imagine what is about to be discovered. It is like crossing a threshold into a different world; at the end of the trail, a mirror of transparent water appears, bordered by mangroves that rise like green guardians, offering refuge to birds and small fish that hide among their roots submerged in the sand.

A local fisherman, who had just finished his work at sea, told us that pink pelicans, frigatebirds, and other seabirds often arrive in the afternoons to feed in these calm waters. Hearing his story made us appreciate the natural wealth of the place even more, as it is not only a place for contemplation, but also a vital refuge for wildlife.

The surprising thing is that, despite being relatively close to the road, once you are there, the noise disappears. All you can feel is the wind gently caressing you and the imperceptible murmur of the water flowing calmly in and out. At the time of our visit, the sea was gently flowing into the lagoon, feeding it with its energy. It was like witnessing an eternal cycle, a dialogue between the sea and the land that sustains life in this corner of the world.

The trees and mangroves were a deep green, so vibrant that they looked like they had been painted with an artist's brushstrokes. As we enjoyed the tranquility, we saw some birds flying by, seeking shelter, as the sun was at its peak and they found cool relief in the mangroves.

Dear fellow travelers, this place is a hidden gem. It's not easy to find without the help of a local guide, which is perhaps why it has retained its essence. La Boquita is not a mass tourist destination, but rather an intimate space, perfect for those seeking peace, quiet, and a connection with nature.
As we said our goodbyes, we carried a feeling of fulfillment in our hearts. The peace we felt there accompanied us on the way home, renewing our energy. We realized that even in the midst of routine, it is always possible to find moments of calm and beauty.
I hope my post has conveyed a little of the magic of La Boquita. I will be back very soon with another post to continue sharing with you the beautiful corners of Margarita Island.
I will see you very soon, in another of my posts.
See you soon,
Bye.
