[ENG/ESP] I work at SUNSOL Unik for nothing.
Hello dear hives, today Saturday I will finally start my rest after a week of hard work. I hope everything goes smoothly and I can enjoy a well-deserved rest. However, I want to share with you a recent experience I had yesterday, Friday, when I had to go down to the famous Sunsol Unik “trench”, the site where the duplex filters requiring repair are located.
As usual, we left home early. My husband and I set off for Sunsol Unik in bright sunshine and sweltering heat, but this is usual on the Island, where the days are usually warm and sunny. The most important thing is to stay hydrated so as not to feel the heat too much. Despite the high temperature, the beauty of the landscape never ceases to amaze me. As we walked along the road, we observed how the urban blended with the natural, creating a unique spectacle with the intense blue of the sky as a backdrop.
Hola queridos hives, hoy sábado finalmente comenzara mi descanso después de una semana de arduo trabajo. Espero que todo transcurra sin inconvenientes y pueda disfrutar de un merecido descanso. Sin embargo, quiero compartirles una experiencia reciente que tuve ayer, viernes, cuando tuve que bajar a la famosa "trinchera" de Sunsol Unik, el sitio donde están ubicados los filtros dúplex que requieren reparación.
Como siempre, salimos temprano de casa. Mi esposo y yo emprendimos el viaje hacia Sunsol Unik bajo un sol radiante y un calor sofocante, pero esto es habitual en la Isla, donde los días suelen ser cálidos y soleados. Lo más importante es mantenerse hidratado para no sentir demasiado el calor. A pesar de la elevada temperatura, la belleza del paisaje nunca deja de sorprenderme. Mientras recorríamos el camino, observamos cómo lo urbano se mezclaba con lo natural, creando un espectáculo único con el azul intenso del cielo como telón de fondo.
During the ride I took the opportunity to take some pictures, capturing the essence of the day.

Upon arrival at our destination, we had to register in order to gain access. This time, the entrance protocol was different, since we had to enter another area and the authorization had to be done with trained personnel.
Al llegar a nuestro destino, realizamos el registro para poder acceder. Esta vez, el protocolo de ingreso era diferente, ya que debíamos entrar a otra área y la autorización debía hacerse con personal capacitado.
We were met by the assistant maintenance manager, who took us to the famous trench. Inside the hotel, this area is so called because it is an enclosed space located in the basement. Once we reached the filters, we began a meticulous inspection.
Nos recibió el subgerente de mantenimiento, quien nos llevó hasta la famosa trinchera. Dentro del hotel, esta zona es llamada así porque es un espacio cerrado ubicado en el sótano. Al llegar a donde están los filtros, iniciamos un meticuloso trabajo de inspección.
My specific task was to take measurements and check the condition of the exterior of the filters, assessing the damage accurately so that I could draw up an appropriate estimate. In the meantime, the men went up to the tops of the filters to continue the overhaul. It is a job that requires attention to detail, patience and coordination to ensure that everything is done correctly.
Mi tarea específica consistía en realizar mediciones y verificar el estado del exterior de los filtros, evaluando los daños con precisión para poder elaborar un presupuesto adecuado. Mientras tanto, los hombres subieron a las partes superiores de los filtros para continuar con la revisión. Es un trabajo que requiere atención al detalle, paciencia y coordinación para garantizar que todo se haga correctamente.
After inspecting every aspect of the filter, we finished our work and decided to leave. Just then I noticed that the hotel had been stripped of its name, probably due to renovation work and painting of the facade. Despite these modifications, the place still retained its charm with the palm trees and vegetation adding to the tropical feel.
Luego de inspeccionar cada aspecto del filtro, terminamos nuestro trabajo y decidimos marcharnos. Justo en ese momento me di cuenta de que el hotel había sido despojado de su nombre, probablemente debido a trabajos de renovación y pintura en la fachada. A pesar de estas modificaciones, el lugar seguía conservando su encanto con las palmeras y su vegetación, que añadían un aire tropical.
As is customary in our team, we took a break to have a snack, share opinions and discuss work details. This dynamic allows us to maintain fluid communication, exchange ideas and ensure a more efficient process. It is very rewarding to work this way because it fosters collaboration and allows us to function as one, which motivates us to constantly improve.
Cómo es costumbre en nuestro equipo, hicimos una pausa para merendar, compartir opiniones y discutir detalles del trabajo. Esta dinámica nos permite mantener una comunicación fluida, intercambiar ideas y garantizar un proceso más eficiente. Es muy gratificante trabajar de esta manera porque fomenta la colaboración y nos permite funcionar como una sola persona, lo que nos motiva a mejorar constantemente.
At the end of the day, everyone took their vehicles and headed back, once again enjoying the landscapes that the island generously offers us. It is a pleasure to work in this environment, where every corner has something special to show.
Al concluir la jornada, cada uno tomó su vehículo y emprendió el regreso, disfrutando nuevamente de los paisajes que la Isla nos ofrece generosamente. Es un placer trabajar en este entorno, donde cada rincón tiene algo especial que mostrar.
