I hope my day will be very good and a little less hectic than yesterday. Sometimes you wake up hoping that everything will flow smoothly, but life has a way of testing our patience and strength.
I left early to go to my father's house, as his blood pressure has been out of control for several days. I had to take him to one of his doctor's appointments to get checked out. Luckily for me, I was able to coordinate my work by phone thanks to technology, which allowed me to spend more time with him and get everything done with greater peace of mind. It is at times like these that we are grateful for technological advances that allow us to be present without neglecting our work responsibilities.

Espero que mi día sea muy bueno y un poco menos convulso que el de ayer. A veces uno se levanta con la esperanza de que todo fluya con calma, pero la vida tiene su manera de poner a prueba nuestra paciencia y fortaleza.
Desde temprano salí a casa de mi padre, ya que lleva varios días con la tensión descontrolada. Tenía que llevarlo a una de sus consultas médicas para que lo revisaran. Por suerte para mí, pude coordinar el trabajo por teléfono gracias a la tecnología, lo cual me permitió quedarme más tiempo con él y resolver todo con mayor tranquilidad. Es en estos momentos cuando uno agradece los avances tecnológicos que nos permiten estar presentes sin descuidar nuestras responsabilidades laborales.

After the doctor managed to control my father's blood pressure, we took him back home. I thought the hardest part of the day was over, but as often happens, when one difficulty arises, others follow as if to test our endurance. When we arrived, we found that a power surge had burned out his air conditioner. And if there's one thing that's not good for blood pressure, it's the intense, exhausting heat of the island. We had no choice but to rush out with our savings and buy him another air conditioner for his well-being, which is something that concerns and worries us deeply.

Después de que el médico lograra controlar la tensión de mi padre, lo llevamos de regreso a su casa. Pensé que ya lo más difícil del día había pasado, pero como suele suceder, cuando aparece una dificultad, otras se suman como si quisieran medir nuestra resistencia. Al llegar, nos encontramos con que un descontrol de la corriente eléctrica había quemado su aire acondicionado. Y si hay algo que no es bueno para la tensión, es el calor intenso y agotador de la Isla. No nos quedó más remedio que salir de urgencia con los ahorros y comprarle otro aire por el bienestar de él, que es algo que nos ocupa y preocupa profundamente.

The weather was great, with clear skies and a gentle breeze that made the trip more enjoyable. I took the opportunity to take some pictures to show you. We set off for Daka, a store specializing mainly in appliances that offers very good prices. This store is located on Jóvito Villalba and Andolza Manrique avenues, within the Rattan Plaza shopping center, in the Maneiro municipality of Nueva Esparta state.

El clima estaba estupendo, con un cielo despejado y una brisa suave que hacía más llevadero el recorrido. Aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías para poder mostrarles. Salimos rumbo a Daka, una tienda especializada mayormente en electrodomésticos que ofrece muy buenos precios. Esta tienda está ubicada en la avenida Jóvito Villalba y Andolza Manrique, dentro del conjunto de tiendas del centro comercial Rattan Plaza, en el municipio Maneiro del estado Nueva Esparta.

When we arrived, we were very well attended to. There were very few people in the store, which allowed us to browse at our leisure, compare prices, and adjust to what we had available. In the end, we chose the most appropriate equipment for my father's room, assisted throughout by the refrigeration mechanic who has been serving us for years and whom we trust completely.

Al llegar nos atendieron muy bien. En la tienda había muy pocas personas, lo que nos permitió recorrerla con calma, comparar precios y ajustarnos a lo que teníamos disponible. Al final, escogimos el equipo más apropiado para el cuarto de mi padre, siempre asistidos por el mecánico de refrigeración que nos atiende desde hace años y en quien confiamos plenamente.

They checked the equipment and then we left to go to my father's house. My husband tied the air conditioner securely with the emergency rope to prevent any damage from movement during transport.

Nos hicieron la revisión del equipo y después nos retiramos para ir rumbo a casa de mi padre. Mi esposo amarró muy bien el aire con la soga de emergencia para evitar cualquier daño por movimiento durante el traslado.

My father didn't know we had gone to get some fresh air, and when he saw it, he was pleasantly surprised. We all agreed that it was the best thing for him. At his age, we have to think about giving him a little quality of life, and with the heat on the island and his high blood pressure, having air conditioning is best for his well-being. It's not just about comfort, but health.
It was a bit of an intense day, full of little battles that we managed to overcome. All the problems were solved, and the most worrying one, which was my father's blood pressure, was brought under control. Although it wasn't a particularly busy day in terms of work or social commitments, it was a day full of worry, and that's exhausting too.

Mi padre no sabía que habíamos ido a buscar otro aire, y cuando lo vio se sorprendió gratamente. Todos coincidimos en que era lo mejor para él. Ya a sus años hay que pensar en que tenga un poco de calidad de vida, y con los calores de la Isla y sufriendo de hipertensión, tener aire acondicionado es lo más adecuado para su bienestar. No se trata solo de comodidad, sino de salud.
Este día fue un poco intenso, lleno de pequeñas batallas que logramos superar. Todos los problemas fueron resueltos, y el más preocupante, que era la tensión de mi padre, logró ser controlado. Aunque no fue un día de gran actividad en términos de trabajo o compromisos sociales, sí fue un día cargado de preocupación, y eso también agota.
