[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday filled with work, wings, and smiles.
Greetings, dear #wednesdaywalk community!
Once again, I am excited to join @tattoodjay's wonderful initiative, which I enjoy so much, to share a little bit of my day with you and, of course, enjoy your walks too, wherever you may be. It is a pleasure to be part of this space where every Wednesday becomes a window open to the world, through our experiences, landscapes, and everyday moments.
My day started quite early, as usual, with the energy that comes from knowing that I have a work routine that I like and that fulfills me. There is something very comforting about starting the day with purpose, with tasks that, even if they are repetitive, connect me with who I am and what I do. The weather, as is often the case here on Margarita Island, was a bit cloudy at first, but it didn't take long for the sun to come out and illuminate everything with its warmth. That mixture of clouds and light creates a very special atmosphere, perfect for taking some photographs that I will share with you later.

Una semana más me uno con mucho entusiasmo a esta hermosa iniciativa de @tattoodjay, que tanto disfruto, para compartirles un pedacito de mi día y, por supuesto, disfrutar también de sus recorridos, estén donde estén. Es un placer formar parte de este espacio donde cada miércoles se convierte en una ventana abierta al mundo, a través de nuestras vivencias, paisajes y momentos cotidianos.
Mi día comenzó bastante temprano, como de costumbre, con esa energía que me da saber que tengo una rutina de trabajo que me gusta y me llena. Hay algo muy reconfortante en comenzar el día con propósito, con tareas que, aunque sean repetitivas, me conectan con lo que soy y con lo que hago. El clima, como suele pasar aquí en isla de Margarita, estaba algo nublado al principio, pero no tardó en salir el sol para iluminarlo todo con su calidez. Esa mezcla de nubes y luz crea una atmósfera muy especial, perfecta para tomar algunas fotografías que más adelante les compartiré.
Before diving into my workday, my husband and I decided to take a little tour of the city. We had a mission: to find a specific product to protect the wood in our house, something like a specialized insecticide. It's not a product you can find in just any store, so we knew we would have to visit places that sell paint or carpentry supplies. And so began our little urban adventure.
Antes de sumergirme en mi jornada laboral, mi esposo y yo decidimos hacer un pequeño recorrido por la ciudad. Teníamos una misión; encontrar un producto específico para proteger la madera de la casa, algo así como un insecticida especializado. No es un producto que se consiga en cualquier tienda, así que sabíamos que tendríamos que visitar lugares donde vendan pintura o materiales de carpintería. Y así comenzó nuestra pequeña travesía urbana.
We went from one place to another, asking here and there, following the recommendations we were given. Each place led us to another, as if we were on some kind of treasure hunt. Although we were unlucky in finding the product, the walk was pleasant. I took the opportunity to take some photos of the surroundings, because the weather was perfect for it; that blue sky, with the sun's rays filtering through the clouds, gave a special charm to everything around us.
Fuimos de un sitio a otro, preguntando aquí y allá, siguiendo las recomendaciones que nos daban. Cada lugar nos dirigía a otro, como si estuviéramos en una especie de búsqueda del tesoro. Aunque no tuvimos suerte en encontrar el producto, el paseo fue agradable. Aproveché para tomar algunas fotos del entorno, porque el clima lo merecía; ese cielo azul, con los rayos de sol filtrándose entre las nubes, le daba un encanto especial a todo lo que nos rodeaba.
By mid-morning, it was time to head to the Unik hotel, where we had an appointment for our routine checkup. We arrived on time, as always, and were very happy to see that everything was in order. The levels were perfect, which is always good news. We carried out the necessary disinfection and, once the job was done, we left with the satisfaction of a job well done.
A media mañana, ya era hora de dirigirnos al hotel Unik, donde teníamos una cita para realizar nuestro chequeo rutinario. Llegamos puntuales, como siempre, y nos alegró mucho ver que todo estaba en orden. Los niveles estaban perfectos, lo cual siempre es una buena noticia. Realizamos la desbacterización correspondiente y, una vez finalizado el trabajo, nos retiramos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido.
Our next stop was right next door, at the Sigo market. I needed to buy some eco-friendly trash bags, so I took advantage of the proximity to do so. Inside the market, I witnessed a rather funny scene: some thrushes, which are usually quite bold birds, were standing on top of the rice packages trying to peck at them. An employee saw them and quickly placed a cover over the products. Here on the island, thrushes are not disturbed, as they are protected birds and also very popular with tourists. At home, they even tend to take over the backyard water trough as if they were part of the family. Today, their boldness and confidence made me laugh quite a bit.
Nuestra siguiente parada fue justo al lado, en el mercado Sigo. Tenía pendiente comprar unas bolsas ecológicas para la basura, y aproveché la cercanía para hacerlo. Dentro del mercado me llevé una escena bastante graciosa; unos tordos, que suelen ser aves algo atrevidas, estaban encima de los paquetes de arroz intentando picarlos. Un empleado los vio y rápidamente colocó una protección sobre los productos. Aquí en la isla, a los tordos no se les molesta, ya que son aves protegidas y, además, muy queridas por los turistas. En casa, incluso, suelen adueñarse del abrevadero del patio como si fueran parte de la familia. Hoy me hicieron reír bastante con su descaro y confianza.
We left the market with my bags in hand, and on the way home, we reflected on the day. Although I didn't manage to accomplish all my goals, it was a satisfying Wednesday. Sometimes, the important thing is not just to complete each task, but to enjoy the process, the scenery, the little things that come up along the way.
I'll keep looking for the wood product over the next few days, hoping to find it soon. In the meantime, I'm left with the joy of having shared this outing with you.

Salimos del mercado con mis bolsas en mano, y ya en camino a casa, pensamos sobre el día. Aunque no logré concretar todos mis objetivos, fue un miércoles satisfactorio. A veces, lo importante no es solo cumplir con cada tarea, sino disfrutar del proceso, de los paisajes, de las pequeñas cosas que surgen en el camino.
Seguiré buscando el producto para la madera en los próximos días, con la esperanza de encontrarlo pronto. Mientras tanto, me quedo con la alegría de haber compartido este paseo con ustedes.
